Ha! The sea shanty is older than the Backyardigans by far, but I'd be lying if I said Backyardigans wasn't where I heard a version of it first. Mobius with matter manipulation on top of her spatial distortion would essentially ascend beyond the rank of "High Epic" and would become a goddess incarnate. A vengeful goddess.

Sam would launch the MoNA into the sun before retiring to a quiet life in her mother's bakery. Revolution would conjure up unlimited bacon until she finally snapped from the corruption and set out to conquer Oregon. Chicago Joe would transform the entire Pacific Ocean into whiskey. It would take him years, but he would maintain that the project was perfectly worth the effort.

Like, almost no glitter at all. Backtrack would probably continue to be lame and unimportant, completely unaware of how powerful he could actually be. Aldo would be pretty much the same.

My thoughts exactly. Though they'd probably bicker too much to be much of a threat to anybody. Be amused while you can, because matter manipulator Lightwards would be way scarier.

Who are the flocks and Herdsmen?
Kobold King replied to High prince of geeks's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would have thought the common people, those who are neither leaders nor warriors, would make up the "flock." -
Hmm... good question. Lightwards' power can raise any organic material from a being that has expired. The keyword here is expired. Lightwards would not be capable of finding a loose hair from Nathan and reanimating his zombie double while Nathan is still alive, but he could use a stray hair as a means of resurrection if Nathan had already died. Similarly, if Nathan suffered a horrible glittermobile accident and was separated into multiple pieces, Lightwards could only raise one Warrior from the scattered remains. The resurrection ability returns a dead creature to the land of the living; it is not capable of increasing the total number of living creatures that have existed in the world. This is why chopping Lightwards in half would not allow him to reproduce via mitosis.

Ooh, me likey. I'll parrot TwiLight's question--who is he? Are there any Portland characters likely to have sable skin coats? I'm mildly obsessed with sables at the moment, and I can't get the image of Lightwards reanimating someone's coat into a fluffy weasel and having it attack them out of my head.

Sables belong to the weasel family Mustelidae, and are officially designated as Martes zibellina. Sables are prized for their luxurious fur coats. Greater quantities of black hairs in an individual's coat makes for a pricier pelt. In heraldry, the color black is called "sable" as a reference to the animal's prized coat. Henry VIII banned all nobles below the rank of viscount from wearing clothing made from sable skins. Sables inhabit a wide range of Eurasian habitats, including the taiga of Siberia, the lowland forests of Mongolia, and the Japanese island of Hokkaido. The Soviet Union allowed colonies of religious separatists called the Old Believers to follow their traditional mode of life, in exchange for all sable skins the communities succeeded in catching. A Russian diplomat in the 17th century claimed that the soft fur of the sable inspired Greek legends of the Golden Fleece. The IUCN does not believe sables to be endangered, but admits data to be deficient in the case of the Japanese sub-population. The hybrid between a sable and a pine marten is called a kidus. This is a sable: This is a sable antelope: This is two sable antelopes: A Google Images search for "sable" will inevitably turn up countless pictures of sable fur coats, dead sable antelopes shot for trophies on the African savannah, and a model named Sable whom I've never heard of before today. Thus concludes today's lesson on sables in all their forms.

0.o Blackwave will be a terrifying addition to Oregon, that's for sure. How long has Blackwave been scourgin' the high seas?

It's been a while since we've seen Quota and Timeport in action. I'd like to see them wreaking some random havoc. Thanks.

Agreed. I kind of want to see Zethes now. Those both make way too much sense. Ooh, maybe Troll!Quota was one of the trolls who vandalized Steve Lawrence's Firefly wiki? (That's a shame. She sounds interesting. Was she well-known enough for more worldwise characters like Aldo to know about her?) Forgive me if I'm forgetting... but has there been a Panacea pony yet?

That reminds me... is there an in-universe reason for the name Quota chose for himself? That's the tricky thing about RAFOs. I've heard before that Brandon Sanderson will flat-out RAFO questions in any way related to certain topics, just so people won't get the impression they can divine the truth out of the frequency of his RAFOs.

Memorable line from the first episode: I found it a very enjoyable show all things considered. You should definitely give it a try. Was her Start of Darkness after people started asking her for snow khiones? I like names from Greek mythology. Will she be featured in Funtimes' flashbacks?

Personally, I loved it. It had some of the same mildly sappy speeches as its parent show Once Upon a Time, but somehow that never bothered me. It only lasted thirteen episodes, but I enjoyed every one; the characters were well fleshed-out and entertaining, and the setting was just as bizarre, dangerous, and whimsical as you'd expect from a OUAT re-imagining of Wonderland. Remember the episode of the parent show with the Mad Hatter meeting the Queen of Hearts? The whole series is like that. Here's what the Cheshire Cat looks like in the show: Storming woman. She sounds neat, just as megalomaniacal as a weather Epic should be in my mind. What's her name?

My brother accused me of being a brony today. I offered to show him my collection of custom Once Upon a Time in Wonderland ponies. Ooh, that's a good one. (Which I should know by now, since I am a pony connoisseur.) Anything you can tell us about the Epic behind the alicorn? I'm guessing some sort of hurricane-manipulator.

If you came up with a scenario in which library science actually brings about Nighthound's death, they'd have no choice but to grant you an honorary diploma on the spot.

I'm still waiting for Voidgaze to gain The Stare as an additional power. "Your paper is good... however, I'm unsure why you wrote the phrase 'And then Nighthound died' every paragraph or so." "Oh, uh, sorry. Sort of a habit of mine." "Well, I'm going to have to mark you down for it." "With all due respect, professor, I think you don't understand the importance of that phrase. I'm going to have to ask you to read a few choice paragraphs from a forum RP before you rank my work."

So... ponies are now a motivational tool for us? Is the government resources collection project the one where Sam becomes a librarian at the high school, and Purple Phoenix is Principal Purple Phoenix?

Did we ever truly grow out of that phase? Ooh! We should ship Mobius with a Nyssan Gazelle! Or, ooh, we could ship her with the precog Dragon from TwiLyght's story. All in favor of the Möbaugh ship raise your hand.

I hadn't even thought of the car. I named their planet after a place in Greek mythology. Cowgirl outfit + royalty + space-time dilation powers = Ensemble Darkhorse. Let us all keep that in mind while writing our original fiction. And then Lightwards died.

I'm still working on crafting the sci-fi/fantasy universe the Nyssans inhabit, but as I have things now, the queen of another alien race not too far distant from the Nyssans has a power set rather similar to Mobius'. Though the alien queen could quite literally tear through Mobius like tin foil. They sort of dated in the Disco Ending. Does that count?

In her defense, Nyssan Gazelle-People have no humanoid physical attributes and look much like the gazelles of Earth. On the other hoof hand, they're capable of telepathy and have been demanding their release for years. So Mobius doesn't really get the benefit of the doubt in this situation. Mobius was the first backstory Epic, as far as I can tell, who actually had a detailed powerset and backstory of her own. But she's still not as popular as Earl Greyback. Spam? Didn't we already agree that spam is the sign of Lightwards?

Wibbly-wobbly, spacey-wacey stuff? Fun fact: Mobius has the ability to travel between parallel universes. She's been spotted in Whitelaw's hotel before, and she has a flock of Nyssan Gazelle-People imprisoned in her royal menagerie. (Question 5. Coming to a forum near you. )
