Remember this day, everyone. This was the only day that Timeport wanting to work with Lightwards actually solved a problem.

Assuming Timeport wouldn't just leave him in the diamond, assuming that if he can't get out of it himself he's not worth serving. Epics have a level of pure, undiluted disloyalty that's honestly kind of impressive.

[Calamity Spoilers] Calamity's Consequences
Kobold King replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
Well yeah, for all we know his weakness over there is gone-off grapes. I'm still curious what would happen if he came into contact with whatever it is that counters his power. Depending on what's meant by weaknesses being weaker over there, it's possible that High Epics in the Invocationverse are completely unkillable by any means at all. (Which, granted, would explain things like Obliteration being uncontained and still on his murderous rampage despite all the superheroes trying to kill him.)- 210 replies

[Calamity Spoilers] Calamity's Consequences
Kobold King replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
Yeah, that's the part I'm fuzzy about. I mean, if David's dad comes into contact with his weakness does he become slightly less invulnerable than he usually is? What does that look like? Is it impossible to completely negate an Epic's powerset over there? These are the kinds of questions that it'd be really great to see answered in a follow up.- 210 replies

[Calamity Spoilers] Calamity's Consequences
Kobold King replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
I feel dumb for having to ask this, but I'm confused and you guys are way more astute readers than I am. There are still weaknesses in the Invocation verse, right? I got the feeling that weaknesses to go along with powers are a hallmark of the superpower system itself, not just of Calamity's corruption, but I sped through the book in a dazed delirium and may have completely missed the point.- 210 replies

But there's a shard of Brandon Sanderson in all of our souls, meaning that when you invoke the name of the Bandersnatch you're simultaneously invoking all the people in the world. -

Saw someone on reddit saying something about a theoretical cross between Nightcrawler and Havok. Of course, I had to tell him all about Obliteration and why he's the scariest superpowered being of all time. Long story short? Just talked a guy into getting Steelheart. You're welcome, Brandon Sanderson. -

Apocalypse Guard: New Series in the Reckoners Multiverse

Doesn't work that way. Whichever one TwiLyghtSansSparkles starts with a picture of a costumed pug is the one that'll catch on. I'm excited for this! I wonder whether the superpowered beings in Apocalypse Guard are in anyway related to Epics, possibly with their own version of Calamity. -
I got the feeling that Brandon Sanderson meant any constructed language with that. So my guess is that he could speak Klingon and Esperanto but not French, which wasn't "made up" in the same deliberate process as a conlang.

Random Stuff VII: The Admins Awaken
Kobold King replied to Young Bard's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
For five years I was stranded on a hellish--whoops, sorry. Let me try again. In the year 2166 an immortal tyrant named--dang it. My name is Barry--sparks, I swear I didn't think I was watching this much CW here lately. -
Then... respectfully I must ask what is the point? If it will not be mentioned, if it does nothing to define the character and make them more interesting, does it have a purpose other than to make the character seem more badchull? Forgive me for being blunt, but I am uncertain what narrative goal you are wishing to accomplish here.

Is killing so many Epics really so integral to the backstory? Killing an Epic in the backstory is by far the most boring way to kill an Epic, especially if it's so many as to sound like a comical boast. Letting a character kill one Epic in their backstory, and making that event he most terrifying, death-defying experiences of their life, is waaaaaay more interesting in my opinion.

Not yet. Give me time. Frankly I was too busy trying to chart out the phlyogenic classification of those six-limbed otter penguins and Appa the fluffy snot monster. -
