  1. Consider him approved. Can't wait to see him in action.
  2. Today I talked to a guy who really likes the name Cholula for either boys or girls. And I have to say, I'm inclined to agree. Perhaps because of biased egotism my favorite boy name is my own, Jared. But I'm also fond of a lot of others, including Sebastian and Lyall. A few girl names I like are Matilda, Kaitlyn, Fern, Isobel, Jezebel, all of my sister's names, and Danielle. (The latter I eventually learned was the name of another Sharder I'm on excellent terms with, so that's an added bonus to it.) Overall though I'm fond of pretty much any name, as long as it's not something as objectively horrid as Britanic Jerald Jansink or Eustace Clarence Scrubb.
  3. Deathwish: putting the "con" in "age of consent" since always.
  4. Topless protesting had never been a thing in The Dalles, until someone started a fad of having women writing "Loosen Up" up on their torsos and flashing a horrified Arsenal. Everyone agreed it was a problem. Except for Deathwish, who tried desperately to get a certain pair of female Epics in on the fad.
  5. "And that's why Scribbler and I hired a stripper!" "...Alright, Ms. Runes. I can't say I approve of this, but it's not as bad as I thought it'd be."
  6. As an experiment I tried to make my own humanized Starlight in Microsoft Paint... it didn't work. That is probably true, but since Rarity has a unique diamond-finding spell she discovered as a filly, it's not inconceivable that Starlight's special talent is magically manipulating cutie marks.
  7. The Equestria Girls style is... not very good at conveying human body shapes. (With that said, I do compliment the artist. It's a very well-drawn piece of work; I simply disagree with its central concept.) Exactly. I get the impression that Starlight Glimmer isn't a young radical; my personal theory is it's taken a few decades of experience to bring her to the ideologies she holds now. I'd place her in her mid-forties, late-thirties at most, in terms of human aging.
  8. Autumn, Arsenal, and Vondra form a sort of triumvirate over the city, so this lawyer wouldn't be directly superior to the Epics most likely. I definitely like the idea of him, though; maybe he could run the administrative side of the city as the mayor's assistant, while Vondra handles more military matters?
  9. Whiny attitude. Non-existent morals. Close attachment to the most abominable family in the galaxy. Yep, Lucentia's a Slitheen all right. Somebody get the Ninth Doctor in here, and fast.
  10. You know what I don't get? All the fan art of Starlight Glimmer that looks like this. Humanized versions of a pony character? I've got no problem with that. But even without going into the blatant sexualization of a character, and that I got the impression Starlight's much older than the Mane 6, the scant Japanese schoolgirl clothing artists keep putting her in really don't fit her character. If I were put in charge of designing a human Starlight, she'd dress something like this-- --but with a pinker dress and with equality symbols on her garb. I think a more mature, crisply civilized look suits her better than a miniskirt and a tiny top.
  11. I'm at a payphone Trying to call home To hear what kind of mess You made without me... Ahem. Sorry. I don't think that's at all unreasonable.
  12. I was thinking that he spelled it 'Emily' when her name was actually 'Emilie', but sure. That works just as well and possibly better.
  13. "'I love you Emily.' You know my name's spelled with an 'i' and an 'e', right?" "Um... yes?"
  14. Alright-y. I keep trying to come up with practical applications of his power, but all I can think of is writing words in the stars. Which might be a good way to allay boredom, but it's hard to imagine a situation in which a desperate message needs to be delivered, at night, to someone with a good chance of looking at the stars at exactly the right moment.
  15. More amiably than he greets the average Epic, but still somewhat suspiciously and quite firmly. That said, he'd be a bit more trusted than Deathwish or any of the "civilian" Epics. Also, new Epic idea: Asterism, capable of creating large scale illusions... but only with regards to the night sky. He uses his power to walk into a town and "rearrange" the stars into an enormous constellation with his face, and hope that such a massive feat of power intimidates the towns people into supplying him with a meal. His illusions of the night sky are visible only within a three mile radius of him, and he's pretty much powerless in daylight hours.
  16. Maybe he was a soldier for the National Guard, assigned to The Dalles by a superior when it was heard Vondra was recruiting Epics? I imagine there are still a few scattered Guard units around the country that probably maintain contact with one another.
  17. When in doubt, default to Japanese or gibberish.
  18. And that, children, is how Vondra used to tuck his children in at night. To make them strong, he said.
  19. Um, should there maybe be a "Ask Kobold for details" line in the thread guidelines about The Dalles? Since it says that for Edgedancer and Comatose's threads, and I'm a thread GM too. Um, if that's okay with you and all. Other than, um, that, it all looks good.
  20. Yes. Most definitely. There are already way too many Epics wandering into the city to explain by pure coincidence, and our storylines will be a mess if too many gamechanging characters wander in. I don't think that's particularly necessary; the list already looks clean and easy and read, and it's easy to look at the Epics of Oregon thread to find out where a character's from.
  21. Does Mommy have a pony yet? I almost pasted one of the topics I wrote for work onto the Random Stuff thread once. Not that it would have been particularly out of place, but still.
