  1. So far as needing EVIL!!! to steal Allomantic gold/Feruchemical gold using Hemalurgy: maybe not... It all depends on whether Feruchemical gold can heal back spiked-out powers. If it can, then you can get infinite quantities of any power, really, so long as you start off with at least a Gold twinborn.
  2. Is this what you're asking? Source:
  3. Ah, someone else mad enough to venture into FTL territory. Welcome!!!! Some comments: First of all, I was a bit surprised when I saw the name of your thread. It was familiar for some reason... That theory of mine, incidentally, answers the "the crew will die of old age" problem by using Cadmium bubbles, as you suggest. From how AoL and the MAG discuss it, I think it a fair to say that bubblers have a fair degree of control over how big their bubbles are. Second, some comments on "nCompounding": Eldest had a similar thought on "chaining" Allomantic nicrosil awhile back, and Shardlet eventually got that question answered. Source: So, just to be clear (though I read you as assuming this), Allomantic nicrosil/Allomantic duralumin don't really add anything to the equation, they just squash down the time frame. That still works for your/my theory, though. Third: Cadmium and Bendalloy bubbles can, in fact, be nested. It works multiplicatively like a Venn diagram. Any "extra" energy produced by this goes to some place we don't know about at the moment. So far as energy being lost/gained by overlapping Sliders within slow bubbles, it's possible we may actually luck out here and get "free" extra time if the Slider is burning at a slower rate, subjective, than usual. That's just speculation at this point, though. Four: You may well be right to look at Allomantic bendalloy and/or Allomantic nicrosil as a component to FTL.

  5. To paraphrase Hessina: humans don't have spren, they have souls. Fire != Bead.
  6. Sorry to excite you, Kobold, but that's just my bad pun that refers to the family of "Form" (read: "Ideal") theories I have. Like the Ideals that spren are based on.
  7. I am both, Tempus. Always and forever both. Thank you, though I'll say that calling some of them "rambling" is understating it. I agree that my Formic theories are the most exciting/groundbreaking at the moment. The MEC, while it is an edifice of awesome, is not exactly spot on in all of its calls. As for tagging, I suppose leaving it as is for now couldn't hurt.
  8. By that logic Blushweaver oughtn't to have died of blood loss from a slit throat, as that's the kind of thing Feruchemical gold or Stormlight would heal toot-sweet.
  9. Well you'll have to work on your psychic powers, as my post is completely different from that...
  10. My assumption here is that extra power can be put into either size, "compression factor", or both, as a rule.
  11. Well thank you, though once again I do you pity the time you spent. I also apologize that my tone becomes somewhat less than convivial at times during the War. So far as marking "seminality" goes, I suppose it can wait for now. I do feel that it would be valuable to somehow mark out the theories that most people just walk around assuming these days, to some extent. I really don't want to comment on the tags all that much because I'm trying to restrain the whole "Kurksitan is a narcissistic monster" streak of mine. Perhaps one or two more divisions if you feel the need, though I'd argue against using letter grades or the (let's admit, highly nerdy of us ) Heightenings. Besides, the Heightenings just end up being numerical anyway, and may result in over fitting because there are so many of them. P.S. You read my big Forms thread too? My my, someone has a masochistic streak.
  12. Sorry to cause you yet more suffering. I do hope for your sake that you didn't read the _entire_ MEC, as its all rather long. A thought: one way that it might be good to mark a few theories is to have some "Seminal Theory" tag for those theories that have had a very large influence on later discussion. Like "Everything has three aspects" or my own thread saying healing is a function of Cognitive aspects.
  13. Thanks for pointing this out, Aether. I suppose I'll ask "Why did Jasnah's combat-soulcasting of the alley thugs affect the clothing of some of them but not of others?"
  14. Thanks.
  15. Sooo... Request for my "new avatar": Could we shrink down the text on "Fjorden" and increase the size of the "Kurkistan"? Because right now your eye is drawn to the first and can barely read the second.
  16. Thanks for the offer, Khyrindor. So far as transcription goes, that's entirely a function of whether a Sharder gets a recording and either posts it for another Sharder to help transcribe (the preferred option) or transcribes it him/herself (the masochistic option). Usually we get recordings by (very politely) asking Brandon if we can leave a phone/recording device on the signing table with him. --- So... questions.... I have a lot. To pick one, I would probably be most interested to know if Miles could heal back spiked-out magical abilities using his existing reserves. That one has some implications for infinite-magic potential. Another is any "Form" question: The most generally awesome one to get nailed down would be "Are the Ideals that flamespren draw upon the same types of things that regulate the 'plausibility' of Forgeries and the beauty-definitions of Returned? What about the composition of Soulcast items, TLR's lack of immortality, or the way that Commands in BioChroma are 'discovered'?"
  17. Well the pic is certainly interesting... I'll take it for a spin, methinks. Old pic for posterity:
  18. Yeah, that was mentioned. Source: --- But given the need for Brandon to PAFO this question, I doubt that this is what he was thinking of all that time ago.
  19. Not too much, as it's not a very informative name. It's mostly just a function of how long I took to find a WoB the last time I hunted it down before saving the link. TLR being voluntarily old, some info on Wit's sword, seasons on Roshar, stuff like that.
  20. Yeah, the "metals return to the planet" WoB is notoriously hard to track down. Once I found it, I ended up putting it in my "Impossible to find" bookmarks folder. Source:
  21. This thread may be of interest to you: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4815-essence-marks-and-allomantic-gold/
  22. We also know that he didn't switch out the Blades, so no shenanigans went on where Hoid stole it and then sold it or something.
  23. Sorry, it's a bad habit of mine. :/
  24. This may be helpful, so far as whether its possible to actually shut yourself off from the input Allomantic electrum gives you. http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=979#50
