Adolin Kholin - Portrait

I drew a suggestion out of a hat a little while back, and "Portrait of Adolin Kholin" was what came out, so here it is =)

I had a lot of fun with this one, and man the black and blonde hair was tricky. Still not sure quite how I feel about the way that I solved it, but ah well. I'm thinking that next I'd like to create some scene with both Adolin and Kaladin. Would give me a chance to revisit Kaladin now that I've learned a thing or two more about portrait painting =)

Let me know what you think!

Honestly, I think he's too white to be Alethi. Aside from that, it's a great portrait, the hair does look good and I like what you've done with the blue coat and background.

Best picture of Adolin I've seen so far. Sort of... steamy. (Sister's description of him. Not gonna lie though - Adolin is easy on the eyes here.) Question - did you base Adolin's appearance here on someone?

Yeah, it was based on a bit of photo reference. I don't know who the photographer was or I would credit them :/ Just something I bumped into on Behance one time, and I tweaked it a bit to make it more of what I'd pictured Adolin to be like.

That's really cool, how long did it take? Oh, and how does one go about posting art anyway? For the life of me, I can't figure it out.

It took me several hours all told between doing a bunch of studies, thumbnailing and then creating the final painting. I worked all digital, which can speed up the process a good deal.

To upload artwork you have a few options: you can drop your art into the gallery first with a standard upload. Then you can attach that bit of art to any forum post by clicking the little " my media" link in the tool set.

Otherwise, you can also upload your image to some server somewhere (Have a blog, for instance?) and then just click the little image icon in the same post editor toolbar and insert the link for your image.
