“An ‘outpost,’” Ely said, “We’re on some world called Earth. Civilization is that-a-way!”

He changed into a brown, sleek fox and stalked, sneaking forward,  low to the ground. He did this for no particular reason. Did he need one?

He glanced back at the human lady who hadn’t known where they were going. “I don’t believe we’ve met,” he said, as a fox, his words being mentally translated into the minds of those within earshot. “I’m Ely.”

Ayia draped her arm around Queen's shoulders. "You most certainly can. Go ahead; ask. Maybe we'll answer, if we want to."

Queen rolled her eyes and shrugged Ayia's arm off of her shoulder. "That was me asking what our mission is. There's this thing called context. Use it."

"It's funnier not to." Ayia stretched. "In any case, our mission is, uhh..." She nodded as inconspicuously as she could at Martin.

"But apparently that's gonna take us a second, so while we're at it..." Ayia smirked at Queen. "Icebreaker time."

Ely randomly transformed from a fox to a polar bear, and changed pace to fall back to where they were talking. "Ice, someone said? I'm Ely."

As they walk, Martin goes through his mostly empty pockets.  He doesn't have any money.  That could be an issue.  Trading tends to leave more of a trail.
