Hello 17thShard! What is your Intent?

I'm Osvibu, chiming in from Spain so excuse my english

Reading has always been a passion for me, specially Sci-Fi (Asimov, Anderson, Adams...) and Fantasy (Tolkien, Pulman, Tad Williams...).  I'm also into videogames (Nintendo, Total War and Single Player) and Film and TV. I guess this is a common build 

During these past 18 months I have read most of Brandon's books (The Rithmatist is angrily looking at me from my shelf) and he has become my favourite author. No question at all. I'm in love with the concept of the Cosmere and find its "reality system" fascinating. As well, I am really interested in how Brandon is using this world to present and put in dialoge diferent morality and belief systems. 

On top of that, and I wasn't expecting it, but I have become a fan of Brandon himself. I just admire the way that he seems to have a plan and the way he deeply cares and respects his fandom. I have yet to hear him say or read something about him that makes me think less of him.

All in all, that's me... Listening to the recent Shardcasts made me join so I am looking forward to be part of the community.

Welcome! I agree that Sanderson's books are fantastic, but him as a person is part of the reason why he's my favorite. He's so sweet and I love that he's such a storming nerd. You’ll fit right in here, but we need to do the inaugural question, who's your favorite character?

Oo, nice collection! So much Sanderson content! It's surreal to see how much content he's put out. Asimov is awesome! Hmm... I see Rothfuss, Pullman & Jemisin on your shelf, good taste!

Thanks! What a question! So many (many) to choose from. It might be an oddball but I am going to go with David from the Reckoners Series. Reckoners was my first Brandon book and I actually enjoyed his humor a lot. From the Cosmere, I think is pretty obvious after my previous choice but I love the Lift + Wyndle pair. I mean, the amount of names Lift is able to come up with is amaizing and Wyndle's patience is just top notch.

Haha, that one is a divisive question, I rather liked it actually.

Sadly it's the only book I've read so far by the author.

Would love to, but I am patientily waiting on a realease date Doors of Stone to read A Wise Man's Fear... well actually to reread Name of the Wind, too. Any day now

Is there any point theorising without the release date anywhere in sight?

will probably have to re-read the first two books to do any theorising! 
 

@Osvibu welcome to the shard! Love your book shelf ! So much Sanderson! He is easily my favourite author because of his concept of cosmere, worldhopping characters, magic system, worldbuilding and character development!! 
So many characters to fall in love with!!
