Well, I didn't ask you to do a check, but you're free to for roleplaying purposes, see above

In that case, I think I'll just pretend that that didn't happen...

Unless, of course, other people want to use that nat 1 as an excuse to get an unfavorable first impression of Wola - it's very reasonable when looking at stats, and could be interesting RP.

He waits, oh well, no harm, "My name is Furit." He continues attempting to conceal his face and body.

I roll a perception check to try to see what he's concealing. 16.

It's fine, it's just a little creepy.

Furit," he says briefly.

"I come to kill the creatures of the darkness," Furit says, his raspy voice becoming more apparent.

Gosh this is so much harder on the forum than in person

Agreed.

"I left my home for no less than a divine call to action! Of course, the specific message of the celestial apparition was unfortunately rather nebulous, so I ended up wandering to this town rather arbitrarily in the hopes that something interesting would turn up. Has anyone here been, say, praying to the Unnamed Goddess for aid?"

Not sure how much she should share, she stayed silent for a moment. "I came looking for a friend. Unfortunately, it seems he left before I arrived."

"Not that I know of, but we surely won't turn you away. In fact, if all of you wouldn't mind helping us out..."

Caira cuts him off with a look.

Kodwola leans in. "Aha! Yes, I am obviously delighted to be of service. Does your problem have to do with the barkeeper's unrevealed plight?"

Caira leans in close. "What did the barkeeper tell you?"

"Caira, I'm sure it's unrelated. We've been having some problems with monsters in the woods. Nothing we can't handle, but it's more a matter of quantity than the strength of them. We can't figure out where they're all coming from."

"Oh, fascinating. The barkeep didn't give any information, just the promise of information. There isn't a reason that telling us of unusual monsters would be dangerous, would it?"

"Telling you, no..."

The two rangers share another look. Caira gets up from the table.

"Regardless" continues Eben, "Would you all be interested in helping out?"

"Very well. Could we get some more details on these monsters? Are they goblins? Undead? Oh, and will we be getting any payment for this or is this just community service?"

BANG BANG BANG

Lander pounds on the door of the very important building he had seen. Hopefully the lord would be in here.

"We'll pay you, of course. We've been seeing quite a few undead which... you're a cleric, right? You could be very helpful with"

That's just how it rolls sometimes :)  Although they aren't technically law enforcement. They're just good-natured people with weapons.

"I'm glad you're in"

Sorry guys, thank you for your patience. I've been traveling lately.

"What, what?" shouts someone from inside. The door opens, revealing a desk clerk with ink stains all over his hands. "Oh! Um... what can I do for you, sir?" he hurriedly walks back to a desk he was obviously sitting at and puts some papers away.

"We've been seeing some zombies and specters. Nothing completely unique, but definitely unusual around here, as well as some other beasts that I've never seen before. We'd like it if you could help us investigate where they might be coming from, or what might be attracting them here. Caira and I can cover a lot of ground, but more eyes would be more helpful."

Wola nods. "I, of course, cannot speak for my recently acquired companions, but I am extremely willing to aid you in unraveling this enigma. I am unfortunately not experienced enough in following the Goddess to be able to banish the undead with but a wave of my hand, but I may be able to accomplish a similar effect with a wave of my mace, yes? Regardless, it is unlikely that I will be able to stand against a large host on my own, so my effectiveness is contingent on the other participants in this conversation also agreeing." With that lengthy comment, she turns expectantly to the others at the table.

@the others at the table (I don't remember everyone that's here)
