The clerk looks like he wants to object, but withers under your force of will. "Allow me to at least make sure he's available. He's just in his office upstairs..." he starts looking through some papers on his desk.

Eben smiles, in what's probably supposed to be a disarming way. "We just pass through every once in a while. We have a circuit of other towns that we come through too, just making sure the peace is kept, there's no monsters ravaging them. You get the idea. We buy supplies and sell some of the stuff we come across."
