Arclomedarian Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 So I haven’t seen it mentioned but when Wit creates that bubble for kaladin amid a torrent of oppressive winds, I got the strong impression that he was in the CR of Sel. Anyone else get that sense or am I way off?

The light was angry. And though Kaladin longed to escape the darkness, each new flash trained him to be more afraid of the light. The worst part was the wind. The wind that hated him. It flayed him, slamming him against the rocks as he tried to find a hiding place to escape it. Hate, it whispered. Hate. Hate hate. ... He was ... somewhere barren. No sign of rockbuds or fines in the flashes of terrifying light. Only endless windswept, rocky crags. It reminded him of the Shattered Plains, but with far more variation to the elevations. Peaks and precipices, red and grey. ... "Wit?" Kaladin asked. "How are you here?" "I'm not," Wit said, "And neither are you. This is another planet, or it looks like one-- and not a pleasant one, mind you. The kind without lights. No Stormlight ones, gaseous ones, or even electric ones. Damn place barely has an atmosphere." The wind and light that hate align with Odium's presence on Braize. And the phrase "windswept crags" is specificially used by Raboniel to describe Braize: Quote "Even if you could get through the barrier storm, the place is barren, devoid of life. Merely a dark sky, endless windswept crags, and a broken landscape. And a lot of souls. A lot of not particularly sane souls." Tangentially, since Hoid doesn't recognize Braize in Kaladin's visions, this seems to resolve The Biggest Rafo: Quote Sir Jerric Has Hoid ever visited the planet Braize? I don't see any indication one way or another on whether or not Hoid visited Braize in that dialogue though he certainly seemed to recognize the place. I'm not taking that as an indication that he has visited because he might've had other sources and Rayse wants him dead, so Hoid wouldn't have wanted to visit that place much.
