Frustration Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Brandon said one of the Chapters in RoW was something he had looked forward to from the beginning. Does anyone know what chapter it was?
Stormrunner1730 Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 I think I heard somewhere that it was the Wit/Hoid epilogue? He's definitely mentioned being excited about this particular epilogue before (but I'm not sure if it's the same the big Stormlight/cosmere scene that he's also talked about. Probably that scene or the Odium switch?
+Invocation Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 It was the Wit epilogue. Quote Questioner What's the thing you're most excited about doing for Stormlight 4? Brandon Sanderson I've got a really cool thing set up for Wit's epilogue that I've been planning to do for a long time. So the Wit soliloquy at the end is going to be a little extra special. Ramona Tehradin she/her Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 (edited) Well, there have been several moments he was working for. The Wit's epilogue as mentioned above is something he has been looking for a long time. There was also a scene he planned a long time ago, like freaking long time ago which was incorporated in Rhythm of War and that was Kaladin's 4th Ideal Sequence. Also, his favorite chapter is The Dragon and The Dog. Quote Brandon Sanderson Part Four Favorite chapter in Part Four: Chapter Eighty (This is actually my favorite chapter in the book.) Part Five Favorite chapters in Part Five: a sequence that starts in 105 and ends in 110. This is actually a central sequence from my very early outlines, which I’ve mentioned I’ve been waiting over a decade now to share with you all. Most difficult chapter in Part Five: Chapter 105. You’ll see why. Miscellaneous 2020 (Nov. 17, 2020) Quote Brandon Sanderson @BrandSanderson · Dec 31, 2019 Okay, update/hour six: Ten scenes done, 7,000 words so far in this particular marathon. One person asked for a sign that they'd reached the part I was writing, so when you read, if you see the words "Shameful Ribbon" that was what I was working on right now. This is chapter where the sequence begins Spoiler For now, he grabbed Lirin by his bound hands and dragged him—screaming through his gag—out of the infirmary. There Moash waited until the Pursuer came flying back as a shameful ribbon of light. The Pursuer formed a body, and Moash pushed Lirin into the creature’s hands. “This is Stormblessed’s father,” Moash whispered. ~ Rhythm of War, Chapter 105 Edited December 13, 2020 by Ramona Tehradin
Elegy he/him Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 The scene that was one of the pillars of his original vision for Stormlight was the sequence of Kaladin jumping: Quote Part Five Favorite chapters in Part Five: a sequence that starts in 105 and ends in 110. This is actually a central sequence from my very early outlines, which I’ve mentioned I’ve been waiting over a decade now to share with you all. Miscellaneous 2020 (Nov. 17, 2020) So if you mean that one, that's it. But as noted above, chapter 80 is his favorite, and he had stated previously that he was very excited to write the epilogue. (The other "pillar scene" he's already gotten to was Kaladin getting the Sylblade at the end of Words of Radiance.)
