Of course! We had a couple of people together and Talnic spouted out a prophecy, so now we're all on quest. A few people showed up and joined. A few more people showed up and joined. A few more people showed up and joined. They started walking.

Minuet (Condensation)'s uncle came looking for her, and there was a bit of a standoff. Then a bear attacked, and a villain was found nearby, but they're gone now. Then they went to bed, it's morning, and a few more people showed up and joined.

Pretty much it!

Avren watched the Shadow and Orpheus head into the trees. He bit back a pang of jealously at their skills. They had probably spotted a new companion, or a new threat.

Still, he was curious, and began to follow them at a distance. When he caught up, a man stood in the snow, looking frightened. At a closer glance, he appeared transparent

Avren narrowed his eyes, noticing something else. His senses told him that this man was dead, so why was he standing right in front of him?

Thank you!!

Spoiler
NAME: Nyxim Stromic (Goes by Nyx)

AGE: 17

SKILLS: Nyxim is a travelling entertainer.  Master of the ways of speech and of many different instruments.  She's also proficient in hand-to-hand combat, and is a master pick-pocket.  She has a few daggers that she carries with her, but not much else in the way of weapons.  She can automatically know if someone enjoying something (comes in handy when you're a travelling entertainer) and has a sixth-sense that she knows someone is lying to her.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: HALF ELF (On her mother's side) She has a two prominent scars on her person, one that goes from her thumb down to her elbow, one that goes from her slightly pointed-ear up, dangerously close to her right eye, and into her hairline.  She has cropped black hair, very pale skin, and dark-green eyes.  She's short, a mere 5'2" and broad. She usually has a smirk on her face.

PERSONALITY: Nyxim isn't the most trusting type, usually sitting in a secluded corner when she isn't making money through entertainment.  She's an Ambivert, usually taking time to herself after a long night.  She's very defensive, anyone insults her or the people she cares about (her horse) she will personally destroy them.

HORSE: (Yes, I'm adding a collumn for Nyx's closest friend) Abalard is unlike any horse you've ever known, sure he looked normal enough with his painted black and brown coat, but that's not the odd thing, no, he was a ancient type of horse, the steeds to the ancient elves, one of the only left of his kind.  He could canter for days without stopping to rest, he knew where the saftest path would be and took Nyx on it.  He seemed to understand her, and know what she was planning to do without her guiding him every step of the way.  He never had to be tethered, and wouldn't wander off.

HISTORY: Nyxim's father is a high-ranking lord, whom, upon her birth was affronted that she was, well, a she.  But, as there were many present at her birth, he couldn't dispose of her quietly.  Skip to 6 years later and you'll see them at the funeral of her mother, who was stabbed at a riot.  Her father, who had been held back until them through his wife, then abandoned her, leaving her on the streets.  She was quickly initiated into a small band of thieves, who taught her all they knew.  Five years later the law finally caught up to them and all were slaughtered, save her.  She survived for another year on her own, barely surviving.  Then she met Hal, he was a travelling entertainer, 30 years her senior, he taught her the ways of entertaining people.  She honed her skills with Hal for a few years before he suffered a heart-attack and, you guessed it, died.  She then went solo, perfecting her craft and searching for something more.

Ren was stunned. These entities… these people, were so open with him. They spoke with him as though he were a common man. Shouldn’t they be afraid? He wasn’t anything like them; he no longer had a place in the world like they did. Ren was something that shouldn’t exist, something neither living nor dead. Weren’t humans skeptical of the things that could not be explained? Confused by the loopholes of incomplete logic? Distrusting of the things that broke the laws of nature?

Yet here stood Orpheus and the man with the dagger, disproving all that Ren had thought to be true. Why had they accepted his existence so easily?

Have I been wrong, all this time? Ren thought, Did I have to be afraid? Did I have to run?

No, he wasn’t wrong about that. He did have to run. Six years ago… there had been no other options…

But now…

There was a slight banter between Orpheus and the first man, but Ren found himself listening with only with half an ear. Everything was happening so fast. Thoughts and memories rushed through his mind, crashing down upon each other like the waves of the sea. What these travelers were offering him… Could he accept it? He felt anxiety building within him, but Ren kept his breathing even and controlled.

Ren pulled himself away from his thoughts quicker than before when he noticed that Orpheus and the other man with the hat and sword had turned away from him slightly. A newcomer had walked up the snowy path and was discussing something with the two of them; Ren didn’t remember seeing the newcomer from earlier, but it looked as if Orpheus and the armed traveler knew him from a previous encounter. Thinking it best not to interrupt their conversation, Ren took a step backwards to conceal himself behind the same tree from earlier.

After ducking away from the foreign newcomer, Ren looked over to his left and noticed another person watching him. It only took a brief look though before Ren quickly recognized this man as another one of the members in the large caravan. Similar to Orpheus, this man was one of the travelers that Ren had taken note of in particular.

Seeing through the Realms, Ren already knew what this man was. He had seen his kind before…

You cannot blame him for what happened that night…

But even with that thought, Ren could not find within him the strength to say anything. All he could do was simply give a hesitant nod to the man watching him.

Talnic felt a faint human presence. It was close, and yet very faint... It had blended in almost perfectly with the sense of something unknowable shifting within the world...

He drew to a halt, the rest of the group continuing on, not noticing at first that he had stopped. Slowly, Talnic set his pack on the ground, in the path cleared through the snow by the group's passing.

With a faint rasp, Talnic drew his knife from its sheath and began walking silently through the snow, the soft powder muffling his footsteps. Whoever it was who was watching might be able to see him, but they might have their eyes elsewhere. As the trees drew nearer, Talnic scanned the dark interior of the woods, trying to make out any motion or other sign of life. He saw none.

Minuet followed silently, disguising herself among the trees. She could move silently enough, they wouldn't see or hear her.

When the Shadow accepted this newcomer's presence, Minuet nearly voiced her dissent. She stepped out from her cover and stood within his view, her face revealing her discomfort with his decision. But she wouldn't allow herself to speak it.

Avren flinched when the should-be-dead man looked his way. He took an involuntary step back, boots crunching in the snow. There was something knowing in that man’s gaze, something that distilled itself into a single thought that sent ice through Avren’s veins.

I know what you are.

If — no — when this man joined them, he’d tell the others. Why wouldn’t he? He’d tell them and Avren would die. He ducked behind a tree, struggling to control his breathing. He saw the Shadow pointing his sword at him, hatred burning in his eyes. He saw his parents, their expressions distant as they ignored his pleas. He saw Dariya, stony-faced as she ordered him out of the tavern and onto the street.

It had been a mistake to come on this journey. And now he would pay the price.

Ara looked over from her conversation with Gal to see the newcomers. Forcibly, she pulled herself from we lecture about Signolic sciences. “Um, maybe we should finish this conversation later. It seems like something is going on.”

Ara moved over to where Avren was standing... hiding? Behind a tree. “Um, are you okay? You look almost as pale as the new guy, and that’s saying something.”

Seeing Minuet's disapproval, Talnic almost smiled.

It was just another example of why he hated working with people. There were always so many different ideas and points of view, always in conflict with each other. There was never a way to satisfy everyone.

"We can talk about this later," Talnic said softly to Minuet. "But right now this is not subject to debate."

For a moment, the ring against his finger burned.

Talnic gasped, drawing his hand away from his knife at his belt. What had that been?

As the burning faded, so did the presence of the people around him. He could still feel them, but they seemed distant. The man whose presence had felt faint at first seemed to be almost non-existent. Talnic tried not to show his sudden burst of anxiety. He had come to rely very heavily on knowing where people were and in what numbers, and if that skill deserted him...

"We need to go," Talnic said. "Things are shifting." He didn't know if it had something to do with the change in the ring, but even so, there was something happening.

"Oh, well, I guess we could..." Gal seems to be in deep thought. He then pulls another notebook from his backpack - one that seems a little older than the one he wrote on before - opens it, and writes some careful notes inside it. He then proceeds to read it.

I’m definitely up for having Gal and Ara talk about this more. It just seems out of character for Ara to not go check out new people arriving. Ara is an Insignial/Manifesting nerd, so she’ll definitely talk about it more. :D

Avren jumped, shocked back into the moment by Ara’s voice. When had she approached him?

“I-I’m...” He took in a breath. He had to keep up appearances. “I’m... all right. Just some unpleasant memories.” It wasn’t completely a lie.

The panic within him only grew louder though, beating like a second heartbeat. Should he leave? No, they would catch him, and it would be too suspicious. The only thing he could do was go forwards.

“We should probably see what’s going on,” he said to Ara, and began to walk towards the group, even though everything inside him screamed to run.

As miscellaneous conversation about dragons and quests continued between the man with the sword, Orpheus, and the newcomer, Ren watched from a distance as the others in the initial caravan began turning back toward the campsite. Slowly the congregation grew, and although Ren’s anxiousness remained steadfast, it wasn’t nearly as uncontrollable as it had been before. Hopefully, that was a good sign.

Looking between the different members of the group as they returned though, it did appear that there were some who were hesitant about Ren’s presence. Truthfully, that made him feel slightly better, though he didn’t show it. It wasn’t that he was gaining pleasure from the discomfort of others, but rather it was knowing that he hadn’t been completely wrong in his views; there were those who could not trust what they did not understand. In another life, Ren had been one of these people. It was good to know that at least in this regard, he wasn’t the only one that had ever felt this way.

Unfortunately, it seemed that Ren’s Being was causing the most discomfort to the one with the… darker tastes of sorcery. Feeling it best to avoid an unwanted situation though, Ren did not acknowledge the youth any further. However, Ren knew deep down that should he ever choose to leave his isolated existence behind and join this band, he would need to speak with this… sorcerer. The thought stirred emotions deep inside of Ren that he fought to ignore.

1 hour ago, JesterLavorre said:

Upon hearing this, Ren shoved his hands into his pockets with denial. He couldn't help but frown slightly at the woman who had spoken, but made sure to say nothing.

I’m not pale, he thought to himself, Just… incorporeal. There’s a difference.

Ren hardly had any time to feel sour though before his eyes caught another anomaly between the Realms. Looking up ahead and to his right, Ren glanced at the entity that had previously been watching him from earlier. After a few moments, he turned to look back at the woman with the curly blonde hair next to the sorcerer. Turning his eyes once more to the entity from the other Realm, Ren felt he could see a… pattern. Although he wasn’t sure what sort of relation these two entities had to each other, Ren couldn’t help but notice an indescribable similarity between the one watching him from afar and the woman standing just a few feet away from him. He wondered what might possibly mean.

22 minutes ago, Tesh said:

"We need to go," Talnic said. "Things are shifting."

Somewhat caught off guard by the man’s sudden declaration, Ren turned as he leaned out slightly from behind his cover. There seemed to be a sense of urgency in the armed traveler’s voice now.

Remaining where he was, Ren quietly observed the travelers from a distance once more.

“Let’s go.” Ara made her way with Avren to where the transparent person was talking to Orpheus and Shadow. As she drew closer, Ara’s eyes widened. He does’t have a Notioncloud. Where blue mist of Notion would normally swirl around the man, there were only Trace wisps of the smoke. In that instant, Ara became fascinated by this newcomer, but sad for him as well. Maybe she could help him.

Xeus turns to Ren, as if noticing him for the first time. He turned away quickly after that, back to the Shadow.

What was that ring about? he wondered.

"I was wondering if I could lend a hand with whatever you're up to," Xeus said to Shadow quietly. "You're a good man. I can provide help, even if only for a short while."

Nyxim Stromic felt invincible riding atop Abalard.  They were cantering along at ridiculous speeds that no other horse should be able to maintain and yet he did.  When they came upon a most peculiar group. It looked like, well, Nyx wasn't sure what It looked like, but it did cause her to slow down her horse to a stop, and try to decern waht was going on, multiple people were talking in little groups of about two, all looking different from each other.  By the gods... There was even an elf in their party.
