That's true. :)

Minuet grabbed her bag again. To be honest, she would have thought that Sir Cocker Spaniel would have noticed it. Guess he wasn't all he was cracked up to be! She'd have to keep an eye on Orpheus, he'd seemed concerned that she would leave without her uncle's permission. As if! He'd just say no. And, to be honest, given what he was having her do, she deserved a break.

Talnic noticed Orpheus spin and instinctively turned in the same direction, pulling out his sword and holding it in a defensive stance. "What is is?" Talnic asked.

Orpheus held still for a few moments, making sure it was gone. "Nothing, I guess. Thought I felt something."

Just as he turned back to continue, a massive black bear with glowing orange eyes emerged from the surrounding greenery, towering even taller than Talnic. It gave a fearsome rawr that seemed to shake the ground.

I've got to go to bed sometime soon. This'll probably end up in a cliffhanger until then.

Also someone'll need to tag a bunch of people perhaps for reactions.

Minuet pulled out a dagger. She wouldn't need it, but she'd want it. And holy Graced, that was a big bear!

Ara yelped, her instincts telling her to run, but Memory spoke in her mind. “No, Light. You need to learn to fight. Survive.”

The momentary shock left Ara, and she quickly threw a rune down on the ground, an illusory duplicate of herself appearing as a distraction. Then, Ara pulled forth another rune. The etching looked like a roiling flame. Let’s hope this works.

Traige jumped, then scrambled backwards. Could he manipulate the bear's mind? He'd never tried.

Avren stepped back as the bear roared. Where those... glowing eyes? He wasn’t well-versed in all types of magic, but in necromancy, a creature with glowing eyes meant one thing. There was a necromancer controlling it.

He swore, and swept the woods with his gaze, trying to find the one responsible. They couldn’t be far. After finding no one, he tore off into the woods in search.

I hope that bit of lore is okay, I just made it up on the spot to add some drama. If anyone has any objections I can change it.

Fine with the lore, but there isn’t a necromancer controlling it. Or at least, no physical one >:)

EDIT: changed my mind, his powers could still work effectively

The bear roared and charged Ara’s illusion, barreling straight through it toward Orpheus and Minuet.

Orpheus cursed and dived out of the way, unsheathing his knife. He was too slow, and the bear’s claw ripped straight through his clothing and dug into his stomach.

”By the gods!” Orpheus cried, plunging his knife towards the bear. But the bear had already refocused on the others.

"Hey, over here!" Minuet backed away from the rest of the group, waving her knife. "Over here, come get me!"

The bear turned, bared its teeth, and with lightning speed—too fast for any normal bear—dashed at Minuet.

Ah, I didn’t realise you had something planned, sorry. So there’s no one in the forest?

Triage reached into the bear's mind, reasoning that it was weak of mind and would be easy to manipulate, but instead found a sort of barrier, as if the beast was too weak of mind to have anything for Traige to grasp in the first place. It looked as if he was useless in this fight, as he didn't want to reveal his telekinesis just yet.

Yes a bit of something. (It’s more of a possession). And in this case you actually could find someone in the forest. You spot a muscular young man with a short black beard in armor. He I seems to be watching from a distance and is shocked to see Avren there.

Cool, thanks!

Avren came to a stop in a clearing, out of breath. Tall trees rose around him, covered in white snow. He listened, for sounds of movement, but all he could hear was the distant sounds of fighting.

He scanned the trees again, and... there! A man in armour, with a black beard, watching the fight from a distance. Avren drew the knife he kept at his side, but if it came to a fight, he didn’t know how much help it’d be. Best if he caught this man by surprise. He didn’t seem like a necromancer, though. He could’ve been wrong; there were many types of magic out there that he didn’t know about. Well, it was too late for any more contemplation.

He crouched, and began sneaking through the undergrowth towards the mysterious man.

As the bear’s back is turned, Ara tosses her rune at it’s feet. It’s off by a bit, but the sudden explosion of fire still singes it’s fur and the surrounding foliage.

Chrys took her time walking back to camp, stopping to smell the roses and pick a couple mushrooms. It was a quite still day,  she was enjoying the time away from the hustle and bustle of camp. Though it would be fun if something interesting hap... Her daydreaming was cut short by a load roar from somewhere else in the forest. What in Faro’s name!? Tossing care to the wind she ran towards the sound of the beast, hoping that she would be able to help whoever was out there, but not help the beast fill it’s stomach.
Her steps slowed as she neared the clearing where the sound had come from. She could hear the sound of people, and was that an explosion? I’m an idiot for coming here. What did I think I could do against a beast? She paused before going into the clearing, making sure to stay out of the beasts sights, and figure out how she could help.

The bear stops in its tracks and roars in rage, absolutely furious and in pain. It’s glowing eyes flash a bit and it hurls itself to the ground, extinguishing its fire. It moves to twist away.

Good night (for when you're ready)!

Minuet dashes a couple of steps away and turns to survey the damage she did.

Avren hesitated, hidden in a thicket. Did he kill this man? He wasn’t even sure if he could. And killing him would mean no answers. Maybe he could capture him? But that would be even harder.

He heard another roar, and made his decision. Answers would be useless unless if everyone ended up dead.

As quietly as he could, he crept up behind the man, and moved to stab him in the neck.

I left this open in case the man reacts, but if he doesn’t, then Avren stabs him.

And goodnight, whenever you go to bed!

I know I said I'd go to bed but I've got to finish this. I'm going with the man notices Avren, but by the time he does it's too late. If that's fine.

The man stepped back in shock but was too late. The knife sunk deep through the man's throat and out the other side; the man gasped for breath, blood spilling out.

"Come..." he croaks.

The man got hit by an orange light and the wound quickly began healing. Before Avren can react, the man vanishes, right where he's at.

*sigh*

And Talnic just watched the whole thing happen, apparently...

Pretend he did some awesome sword fighty stuff.

Talnic noted the glow fading from the bear's eyes, but it didn't matter. He plunged his sword through the bear's neck, and then pulled it out again in a swift motion.

Finally, the bear fell still.

Let me know if you wanted to do something else with the bear.

Avren stood in shock, staring into the space where the man had stood moments before. Blood dripped from his blade, dotting the white snow. He glanced around, looking for any sign of the man, but to no avail. He looked back at the footprints in front of him.

He didn’t know what to feel, how to feel.

I nearly killed someone.

His hands began to shake, and he couldn’t bring himself to move. He had been an enemy, yes, but in the moment that didn’t seem to matter. But then, that thought was silenced by a louder one.

I let him get away.

Avren’s grip tightened on his knife. If only he’d been faster.

So, Gal did nothing. But that's normal. He probably just tried to recall everything that seems related to the bear - I thought of something along the lines of "oh, a non-physical entity manifesting inside a bear." Or something like that. I at least think it's close enough to the idea. Anyway, he would've ducked away - he's no fighter.

I will write later what was Gal's reaction to all those events - I don't have time now.
