Hello.

after a long hiatus from reading (for enjoyment) during undergrad and grad school, picked up Mistborn and immediately fell in love and have since finished all the cosmere. I went to school for geography so Brandon’s world building is a dream come true. 
 

also, after delving deep into the lore and having my mind blown by Dawnshard, started listening to the Shardcast and thought I would pop up in over here!

also, also, I am a Gemini. But more importantly, an Edgedancer.

Oh man. Probably gotta go with Vin since she was the main character of the first cosmere book I read. 
Also, really love Dalinar. 
 

minor shoutout for Silence Montane. Read Shadows for Silence shorty after becoming a father and that book stressed me out a ton!

Oh man. From a story standpoint probably Amaram. DiLaf. 
 

idk if I really dislike many characters. I might have said Lift until discovering I was an Edgedancer as well. And maybe Lopen. But he really grew on me in Dawnshard

Final Empire. Probably just for the nostalgia of exposing me to the Cosmere.

Welcome to the Shard! So awesome Mistborn was able to get you back into the reading game! These books and reading in general is just too awesome to be gone from for too long  That is so cool that you are a geography major and reading Cosmere as well! I can only imagine all the different ways you can look at it and all the new things you can notice. These are definitely the books to be doing that with too the world building is stunning!

Hope you were able to get your mind back together after having it blown, common side effect when reading Sanderson if you can believe it or not, so inconvenient  If you've been into lore and Shardcast you are perfect for us! So happy to have you join! I can totally agree on the Amaram hatred, it's the mark of a well written character because man is he infuriating. What has been your favorite series?

Thanks for the heads up. As far as favorite series. I would say Stormlight. I started it sort of on a whim with no expectations and as a “well I gotta read me all” unknowing of how epic it was planned to be. Have had a ton of fun reading it.

Exactly like that! You got it!  And I would say I have to agree on that Stormlight favorite totally. That is so crazy you started it off really with just no idea about it and then just absolutely got hooked. It is most definitely one of those series that you start off with and just go like "woh... this is epic." Hope you enjoy the Shard!
