Elsecaller_17.5 he/him Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 TLDR: Dragons=Larkins The mural refers to chiri-chiri as a "Guardian of Ancient Sins." Given the context ancient sin seems to clearly be the Shattering. This means Larkins would have had to been around for the event. That in itself isn't at all a stretch, after all Roshar predates the Shattering. But we also have word the Larkins are sapient. It just seems like too many conidences for Larkins to not be dragons. 4
Mason Wheeler Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 I dunno. Dragons are generally depicted as reptiles, not crustaceans, and they're famous for what they breathe out, not what they breathe in. 1
TruthlessofNalthis Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 To add to what Mason said, Brandon has stated that Larkins are similar to Dragons but not the Yolish variety. WoB for reference: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/10/#e6429 2
Mason Wheeler Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Ooooh, nice! I wasn't aware of that one. Thanks for posting it!
TruthlessofNalthis Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 (edited) well slap me and call me silly. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/444/#e14348 apparently they may be descended from the Yolen variety. OP was on to something. Edited November 7, 2020 by TruthlessofNalthis spelling corrections 2
