Fellur's laughter died off and he saluted the dwarf jauntily. "All the same, my dear friend, I do have to be off. It's been a pleasure." He jumps off the windowsill and glides down to the ground.

"AGH!" Cally pulled her foot back just as the small creature flew down to where she was about to step. "Sorry about that. Are you a faerie? What's your name?" Cally pulled out a notebook and pencil. How could she subtly broach the topic of interviewing this person? She couldn't just ask. Cally shuddered at the idea of such direct confrontation.

"Duh! Look out, clumsy Sjor! With your big clomping feet, you were almost the end of me and my ravishing wit!" Fellur specifically doesn't answer the name question. It wouldn't do to have his name out. That would be too easy to find him then. He spots the notebook. "Do you want an interview or something?"

Faerie?

Faerie?

It's spelled Fairy, Jester!

Spoiler

I'm not actually mad, btw... just in case that wasn't clear.

“Oh!” That was easy. “Uh, yeah, that would be great. I’ve never met a Fairy before. What do you eat? Can you do magic? What brings you to Midway?” Cally is so excited the questions start tumbling out of her mouth.

There you go, Fadran, spelled it right. :P

Just as fast as the strange girl can talk Fellur starts talking back. "Well you don't get out much, do you? Fitful dreams, happy memories, and the souls of inquisitive Sjor. Yes, but don't tell anyone, it's just too much for me to be talented and amazingly handsome. I was going to be executed for excessive wit."

Cally looks down to where she was frantically scratching notes. “Wow.” Her eyes scanned the page. “Wait... souls of Sjor? What kind of magic do you do? Can I see it?”

Also, why does “Sjor” autocorrect to “Stormlight”?

"Umm... fairies do not, in fact, eat Sjor souls."

A necromid walks towards them, holding a massive tome underneath his arm.

"Hello. Professor Alvin, at your service, but you can just call me Al."

Fellur crosses his arms and pouts, hovering three feet in the air. "Well that takes the fun out of it"

There were some people right beside Dura's alley. Perhaps they had something of worth? Best not to try and rob the whole group. He was only one man.

“What do you study?”

Fellur, bored with this conversation already, flits up to Cally's shoulder and starts reading off her notepad.

The bottom of the page is stained with fruit juice, but the rest reads:

“Fairies eat dreams, memories, and souls of Sjor. This fairy has magical abilities. Do they all? They say they were going to be executed for their wit. Is this a normal Fairy tradition, I wonder?”

There are also some directions scribbled at the bottom, reminders on where to find the Academy of Arcana.

Fellur snickers, but notes the Academy location. That could be helpful

Cally turns to Alvin, trying to ignore the fairy on her shoulder. Well, this is certainly an experience. So many successful social connections! “Um, professor, what... are you?” Cally winces at the phrasing. Flustered, she tries to correct herself. “Sorry! I just mean, I’ve never seen someone of your race before.”

"You haven't?" Alvin shrugs. "I'm a necromid, though you may have heard the derogatory term: vampire."

“Oh!” Would asking if he drinks blood be rude? Probably. “So, uh, what do you eat?”

"Not the souls of Sjor, if that's what you're wondering."

“Well, close enough.”

Fadran, do you have any plans for plot? Because we may want to start moving, soon.
