"I will not fail."

Kuno smiled.

"I know. If you get the chance, then break him your way. If you can't or don't have the time, then we'll have to rely on the old fashion way and give him to Rachelle. I can get you a dossier on him if you need one."

"I suppose..." Vivace looked wary, and rightfully so. Concerto was just fishing for info to help Chorale once she came back out.

"So, you just lived solitarily, moving around whenever you needed to?"

"Sounds pretty accurate."

"Huh. I thought there'd be more of a difference between the big cats, but apparently not."

"Yeah. Oh, and I think it's my turn to ask a question."

"Okay, that sounds right."

"How did you end up as the leader of the Amal? You're only slightly older than Chorale, and she's certainly not old enough to have become the leader of a settlement or something."

Fish, we might want to get moving.

"I defeated the -- Are you okay?"

Vivace was blinking rapidly and a grimace twisted her face.
Hey. I'm back.
Shoot, I was enjoying that. And now your brother and... whoever that soldier is are going to do all they can to get you where I was. Shame.
Not really my problem right now. Can I have a turn for a bit?
I suppose. Vivace sank down reluctantly.
Chorale smiled at Concerto. Right now, he was about the nicest thing she'd seen.

Pior watched Vivace and Concerto closely.

"I don't like them, but I guess I gotta stick with you anyways hot eyes. Besides, Yain ain't gonna be missing me for a little while."

Pior had started to doze off as Vivace and Concerto were speaking, only to jerk awake at random. He turned to look at Aerith.

"I miss anything good?"

Chorale turned to the strange voice and her claws unsheathed. She came to her feet quickly, crouching and facing them. "Who's this?" she snarled, then glanced through Vivace's recent memories and winced. "Oh, sorry about that. My bad, I hadn't checked Vivace's memories. What's your name?"

Pior yelped and drew his dagger as Chorale snarled. Pior spoke under his breath."Crushing amal jim-foolery."

He then cleared his throat. "I'm Pior, Aerith's companion in his endless quest to rescue you."

Pior nudged Aerith, hard.

"Well, thank you. I appreciate it. And again, I'm terribly sorry about that."

Concerto stood quickly. "Oh good, you're back."

"Alright." He pulled away finally. "Guess I can't really have a moment without you being annoying. Have anything annoying to say?"

Vapor, you should get more active on this RP.

"Who, me?" asked Concerto innocently. "No, I just thought it'd probably be smart to get working before Kade comes after us. You know, just looking out for the general well-being of the group."

See? Very active!

Aerith got to his feet, looking Concerto in the eyes. "'Looking out for the general well-being of the group.' Sure, man. Says the guy who used me as leverage to force his own sister to become an amal."

"What? People can't change?" Concerto grinned.

Vivace turned to Concerto. "You know, a minute couldn't hurt. It's not like they're all cheetah Amal. And from what I could tell, Kade let us go. It's not like he'll do that and then immediately send people after us, or even send people after us the same day."
Chorale took a deep breath. "Sorry. But that was kind of unfair."

"Maybe, but I don't trust you. Whoever was in charge let us go, and I'm willing to bet they let you go too. So until we can be sure that you're not feeding info to whoever's inevitably going to chase us down, I'm in charge."

"Mhm. His name's Kade, by the way. He's a snow leopard Amal who has it out for Chorale, so you can bet I'm not feeding info to him. And obviously they let you go, too. What do you have to say to that? Maybe this person you recruited is selling us out. We really can't know. So really, we should trust the one who has biggest stakes in this: me."
