Pior dashed out behind him and off to Aerith's left. Pior ran with his swordstaff held towards the enemy, while yelling an unintelligible battlecry.

The Amal guarding the gate attacked Aerith and Pior, some with slightly singed fur. The mongoose from earlier attacked Aerith first while a king cobra Amal attacked Pior, striking powerfully.

Aerith grabbed the mongoose around the neck, fueled by rage, slamming it to the ground and shoving burning hands into its chest.

Pior used his swordstaff's reach to try to keep his foes at bay as they attempted to rush past them.

In response, the king cobra grinned and slid under Pior's swordstaff to trip him.

Two more Amal(Um... red-tailed hawk and black mamba) jumped at them and a group of wolves appeared around the corner.

Pior raised his guard once more before shooting a smile towards Aerith.

Pior stayed at Aerith's back as he took on an impeccable defensive pose towards the approaching Amal. His face practically beckoned the Amal to challenge him.

Pior twisted quickly towards the Black mamba, cutting at it with his swordstaff in an attempt to either kill it, or at least ward it off.

Aerith hurled fire at the hawk, sending fireball after fireball at it. "We need to keep moving!"

The black mamba pulled back just in time, but wasn't certain enough to try again. As Aerith threw fireballs at the hawk, it bobbed and weaved to avoid it, but one of its feathers caught as a fireball passed by.

Pior kept a keen eye on the snake while he watched the rest of the approaching Ama.

Pior moved back quickly while keeping his defensive posture. As he made his way, he made his best effort to stay in step with Aerith.

Aerith thew crisscrossing blades of flame at the hawk. Let it try dodging that.

He then threw a fireball at the black mamba, then kept running for the jungle.

Pior moved quickly behind Aerith, watching his back as they made their way out of the front gate.

The hawk's feathers caught on fire and it fell to the ground. As Aerith and Pior made their way out of the settlement, the guards didn't follow. They stayed within the settlement, although they hurled curses and spears out at them.

As soon as they were clear of the gate, Pior started to make a break for the Jungle, looking over his shoulder to be sure that Aerith was following.
