That was a weird POV break. We went from Elayne, to Karede going out to find Mat, and then BACK to Elayne. Why did we take a break with Karede there? We could have gotten that later, before the next Mat chapter (because there will probably be at least one before the end of this book)

Looking ahead a bit, just to see whose POVs are coming up, it's even stranger. We go back to Karede after this chapter and then onto Mat. So it goes Elayne - Karede - Elayne - Karede - Mat. That just feels strange to me. We could have gone Elayne - Elayne - Karede - Karede - Mat. But then again, this isn't the first time this happened in this book. A bit ago, we had a string of POVs that were also odd. We went Egwene - Tarna - Mat - Tuon - Perrin - Faile - Rand - Mat - Faile - Perrin, and some of those changes happened in the same chapter for seemingly no reason (for instance, Tarna led into Mat, and then Tuon led into Perrin, and those are the same chapter). For some reason that one stood out less to me than this. It's not, like, a flaw. I don't actually care. I'm just curious what the rationale behind these things are. Maybe to show a progression of time?

I LOVE MAT I LOVE MAT I LOVE MAT I LOVE MAT! Man just goes "Release the shield, yeah damn right the Power doesn't work on me, drop it now or I'll kick your ass." The best character

Well Mat and Tuon's marriage is official. What happens next is gonna be very interesting.

And there goes Suroth

The End

The Wheel of Time

Fantastic book. Best in the series. I loved it

What in the world is Taim's game plan here. I'm not sure. I don't know what he's thinking and what his intentions are. I'm very intrigued.

It occurs to me that Jordan never got to do the inevitable conversation between Mat and Tuon about channelers. That's gonna happen eventually I think it's too important for it just to not happen, but since Tuon has left Mat now, they probably aren't going to meet again until well after Jordan's last word. So that's sad. Me, I have no idea how that conversation would go

Mishima's dead and Tylee's under attack by Trollocs. That victory didn't last too long.

Demandred has to be in the Black Tower, there's nowhere else he can be. But I don't believe Taim is Demandred, because I've heard people talk about Taimandred and the way they talked sounded like it wasn't true. This did get me thinking a lot more about Demandred than I was though, and I would believe Taimandred if I didn't feel like I already had it deconfirmed

Seems like this book will have the fight with Graendal

ITURALDE STOP BEING SO RAW I LOVE YOU

And so Masema is dead. Sick scene. I do wonder why we kept him alive as long as we did if he was just going to die here, but as a sequence of events it works perfectly. I do wish that we got to see Rand talk to Masema. That would have been cool. Also are we gonna figure out what the hell he was doing with the Seanchan, or was that just a reason to give Perrin the order from Suroth? Are we gonna learn why the hell the Aes Sedai were meeting with him?

Man ever since someone brought up the idea that Elaida wasn't as tyrannical until after she met Fain, I'm so hard pressed to not see her change as a result of that, because she really does feel completely different and even Egwene is pointing that out

Now Lan has all the fighters of Malkier AND the might of Rodel Ituralde on his side. The Last Battle is gonna be raw. Nynaeve and Rand, giving Lan one of the strongest forces on the continent, completely separate from one another.

OKAY A MAN'S BLOOD BECAME LAVA ALRIGHT! I wonder if that was an effect of the Dark One's influence on the Pattern or if it's evidence that Semhirage can still do things even captured. Probably the former, but hearing her talk about replacing people's blood with other things....

Big question is can you tell the difference from J to S’s style? I think he was a bit shaky with some things but S really started gelling in bk 2 with a J like flow. I’ve only read his 3 once so I’m looking forward to seeing the flow once again once I finish 11. I started that today and I’m really hoping it doesn’t take me months to get through like 10 did this time around. Ugh that was painful.

I distinctly remember that Mat felt really off in The Gathering Storm when I read it, but hes better about that by Towers of Midnight

I noticed some things very early on, some writing decisions that are very distinctly nor Jordan, I've been noticing them less as the book has gone on. Haven't gotten a Mat chapter yet so I can't say anything about that.

Elaida, the eternal failure. She keeps digging that hole deeper. Elaida continuously makes so many god damn mistakes it's a wonder I ever thought she was competent. Arymilla seemed more competent than Elaida does now. I seriously wonder if the idea that Padan Fain tainted her has any merit because she does feel so different

Egwene is S tier don't care she's the best

OH NO RAND GOT CAPTURED THIS IS HAPPENING FASTER THAN I EXPECTED

Ohhhh boy Rand used the True Power. Semirhage, you're about to get what's coming to you. Rand don't care anymore

Seems like we might finally get an answer to why Aviendha is being punished, and before it's revealed I'm gonna say what I think it is (which I've thought for a while): She isn't going to Rand and proposing.

I was wrong!

Aviendha is going to Rhuidean now. Are we going to learn more lore? Or will it just be offscreened?

Did we know Sheriam was Black Ajah???????????????????? I don't remember this AT ALL

Sheriam had some on screen dealings with Halima in Salidar, I think.

So I adore luck manipulation as an ability. It's one of my favorite ablities to see, which is why I love Mat. I've never seen it used quite like Mat uses it. I've never heard of strategic BAD luck in luck manipulation, and I love it so much

Wow yeah this is the most Sanderson thing in this book. Making literal D&D character sheets is definitely not something I'd see Jordan!Mat doing, but it's very much something I'd see the Mat expy in a Sanderson book doing
