Hoid the Former Drifter he/him Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 "...I mean, we have a little pile of Inquisitor spikes, and nothing to do with them..." "And you?" Spook asked. "What do you gain from this?" "Nothing big...we're just going to have to find me a new string." This si a sign of a direct correlation between Hemallurgy and Kelsier's new body, correct?
Hoidolasium he/him Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 It seems the most likely theory but we don't know for sure.
Survivor of Hathsin Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I don't think he had to get a new body. His body still had scars lining his arms, and he looked like Kelsier. I think you are right about the hemallurgy though, Kelsier probably needed something heavily invested or something like that to create a tie to the physical realm. But I don't think he needed feruchemy, unless it was maybe Connection or something like that. It makes sense why he would need a new body, though. Maybe he used his bones. Brandon said somewhere that the bones made their way back to the Kandra homeland after TenSoon was done with them. and hinted that something else happened to them. He could have used them somehow to recreate his body using Spook and hemallurgy to help him. That is my theory. Is it really unlikely? 2
Hoid the Former Drifter he/him Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 But how would he have the scars?
Survivor of Hathsin Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I'm not sure, maybe he mimicked the flesh like a kandra would or something. Maybe thats what the spike is used for. But I'm not sure. I'll have to think about that.
HSuperLee Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 The scars are part of his cognitive Identity. Every magic that we know of that would heal or regrow his flesh would see the scars as part of his body to be regenerated, and thus he'd still have them. 1

Spoilers for Stormlight: Spoiler One of the prevailing theories is that he used similar mechanics that give the Heralds new bodies whenever a Desolation began. They are also Cognitive Shadows that manifest bodies in the Physical Realm. But I'd definitely bet the spike in his eye is a part of it. 1
Survivor of Hathsin Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Yes, those both sound like we are on the right track.

Koloss17 She/They Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Well I’m fairly sure we know that the spikes are being used to staple him to the physical realm and to the body he is inhabiting. The scars are part of his cognitive identity (like some other scar bearing friend in the cosmete). That means that most likely they will appear on any body he is stapled to, which I believe we think is currently a mistwraith.
