"That's not a very gentlemanly thing for you to do!" Ayia said. She sent out her Line again, pulling Martin into the air.

"Not a gentleman," he clips out as he falls, braid whipping past his face.  "I'm a soldier."  Was.  He hits the ground, ankles protesting, and runs forward, leaping into a full body tackle.

Yeah... she's kinda still in the air, pal.

Ayia came down, this time not using her rods to do anything fancy. She wanted to see what these fellows were gonna do.

Fresco skips in in half a second with a roundhouse kick to the stomach.

Think, you idiot!  Martin scrambles back to his feet.  "Think like Reese," he mutters.  Think like the small person.  The one at a disadvantage.

He circles carefully, watching Ayia.  She can make those rods stay anywhere.

That's it.  He pulls out his training knife, the weighted rod that he still carries for some reason, (Mik gave it to him, before he died), and switches it to his left hand, closing the gap between the two of them, and slashing upwards.

Think kind of like the Winter Soldier.

Ayia steps back, moving to regular staff combat; deflecting, attacking, and just being an all-around epic chick.

So that's how we're going to write it.

Fresco dodges when attacked and counters quickly afterwards, being an overall bad axe fighting machine.

Staff.  He recognizes this.  He knows how to makes this work.

He ducks beneath the staff, pivoting to come up behind Ayia and hold the training knife against her neck.

Stop *pant* being *pant* epic!

I'm trying to be realistic and it's not workkkkingggg (to be fair I've never fought anyone and am making this up.)

Ayia freezes.

Fresco is behind Ayia now, and he takes the opportunity to grab her from behind by the shoulders.

"Match?"  Martin asks.  The hand that isn't holding the knife is shaking.  He balls it into a fist.

She smiled, then fell backwards.

Ayia held out her staff, Stabalizing it and swinging into a slide underneath Martin. She spun around, swinging her staff at Martin.

It hits him solidly in the shoulder.  His bad shoulder, as a matter of fact.

He'd almost forgotten about that.

He does his best to shake it off, switching the knife to his other hand and spinning it into a reversed grip.  Another slash upwards, in the same way that Reese had shown him.  Then a stab towards the shoulder in the same movement.

He's sweating now.  It's been some time since he had a fight that lasted this long.

Basically she can freeze metal things so that they float in their and support weight, effectively breaking every law of physics.

Their? Sorry, I know I'm not being the greatest right now.

Ayia decided to have some fun. She Stabilized Martin's knife.

Fresco pats his pockets. He didn't have a knife. He frowned, leaped into the air, and launched a series of kicks at Ayia.

She Stabilized her staff in the air horizontally, flipping up on top of it and holding herself upwards like an acrobat. She came down and kicked in a wide circle, coming down and Destabilizing the rod mid-drop. She spun with her staff like a top in a tight ball on the ground, increasing her range systematically. In the flurry of motions, she transfered the staff to her legs, Stabilizing it in the air to hang upside-down.

From there, she kicked off of it, pulling it mid-dive to her hands to attack Fresco.

His hand slips down.  The knife doesn't.

"Next time you do that, make sure it's not a real knife!" He shouts.  It would be very easy to do a lot of damage if there was an actual blade at play.

He does what he can.  He goes for the full-body tackle again as Ayia attacks Fresco.

Mind if I do something that might partly end the fight scene?

She held out her hand, Stabalizing a small piece of metal for him to smack into.

The metal hits him in the chest and he stumbles.

He can't keep doing this.  They're both jsut going to keep going until one of them is too tired, and it will be him.  He's a physical fighter.  Not a magical one.

"I yield." He mutters.  That's okay.  He's okay.  There is nothing forcing him to keep going.  This is okay.

"You're pretty good; plus you're at a disadvantage." Poor guy. At least she was an above-par Linecaster.
