No, I have not read that! Thanks!

It's in a 5 book, loosely connected series. It doesn't really matter which you read first, but read CoDB before LoDB

Good to know. Do you have a request?

Nah, I'm a slow reader and I have to finish my OB reread, then my ED reread, then my DS read then my RoW read.

This isn't a sentence to begin with. Therefore any points about grammar are null and void until you reformat it into a sentence. Reading it though, the pauses (at least when I am reading it) seems to be after "Fantasy" and "can," so written like this: "Fantasy, as epic as you can, limit sexual content" although dashes might be better than commas.

I only care on the "idiots club" thread, as that is the only place it will cause Frustration to have good grammar.:D

I would like a sci fi with about the same level of language/romantic content as a Sanderson book, and good characters.

LUNAR CHRONICLES. Or Illuminae Files.

I read Lunar Chronicles already.  I've actually got the second one on hold again because they're so good.  What's Illuminae Files about?  I've heard the name, but nothing about it.

...it’s hard to explain, but it’s formatted like a collection of files and papers and stuff, and it’s just really good storytelling. Very sci-fi, great characters, and it jokingly censors all the cursing :P

DID SOMEONE SAY ILLUMINAE

To the the original poster: The Riftwar series might be just what you are looking for. The first four books are classic 80s fantasy. Quality fluctuates with the latter books. I’ve also heard some good things about L.E Modisset Recluse series that fits your specifications but I have not read them.

@Frustration Opinions are all over the place with Lightbringer. I’m personally a fan. I even own a bumper sticker that my wife made for me. It’s a reference to a part you haven’t read yet

I want to thank @The Awakened Salad @AonEne @Blessing of Potency because I was scrolling through recommendations here without a book and really enjoyed Illuminae. While the two main characters where not my favorite I absolutely loved AIDAN and his philosophical/mad chatter. Also a shout out to a unique storytelling.

Unfortunately I am now out of a book, so any suggestions... I like romance, not much more than a Sanderson book though for explicitness and I don't want it to be the central plot. An adult sci-fi book would be nice change as I mostly read fantasy with some nice intrigue to keep me on edge but not too dark.

I have two adult scifis, the first is more adult but the second has more language.

The Middle Falls Tike Travel series is a present day scifi, but only about half of the books in the series have romance.

The Lost Frontier is a far-future scifi, but the first series isn't where the romance is completed, it's in the Honor Wars sequel series.

I would like a decently sized (500+ pages) series with lots of magic and interesting worldbuilding, but not much romance (a little non plot centric is ok) fantasy series. A good and interesting dystopian would be cool too.

If by 500+ pages you mean every book, this series won't cut it, but if you mean 500+ pages total, it'll work. It's an interesting and ongoing series with solid worldbuilding: Cradle, by Will Wight. Book 1 is called Unsouled

Ayyyy, I'm glad you enjoyed it! There are two more books in the series, if you're interested, and they switch out main characters some. Plus more AIDAN, which is always a joy.

My library finally got book two, so I can keep reading it now!

Anybody got a recommendation with space marines?  No swearing, graphic content, the usual parameters.

I feel like a WH40K book without graphic stuff is would be kind of hard to find (unless you don't mean gore by that)... idk though I don't haven't actually read any

Try A  Confusion of Princes by Garth Nix. The main character is in the Space Navy instead of the Space Marines though;)

Another option you could try is the murderbot diares which starts with All Systems Red by Martha Wells.
