Santalotl Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 So, I was thinking about why the eyes of those who are killed by shardblades burn out. Eyes are often described as the doors or the windows to the soul and if I remember correctly, shardblades sever the connection from the physical to the cognitive realm (where the "soul" is located). When killed by a shardblade, it severs your connection to your soul and thus the eyes burn out because that window to your soul doesn't lead to your soul anymore. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I found it interesting to think about. 4
Aminar Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Shardblade cut in all 3 realms. The soul is probably more of a Spirit Realm than cognitive realm thing if it isn't a little more complicated than even that. But that doesn't invalidate the idea. 1

I believe it actually does a physical and cognitive kill, if I am correct. It needs to be a tad more invested for a spiritual kill The sword nimi is much more invested and kills in all three realms. Hence, I think, it completely destroys the body.

Nightblood completely destroys the body as they consume all the Investiture within their body and their spiritweb, and this likely carries into the Physical Realm.
