Iredomi Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 The writer is the one who writes the scripts. They base it off of White Sand, obviously, but it probably won't be an exact copy. The writer also, IIRC, chooses how to do the frames. The artist then does all of that. Thanks for clearing that up Shaggai, I don't know if that makes me feel much better haha but it is definitely good to know.
Swimmingly he/him Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This means that I will have to read the unpublished book now, because it will be more 'true'. Can someone tell me how I get it please? Ask Brandon/Team Sanderson. Nicely.
Asperity he/him Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I was going to comment on the dual planet sides but I can't really complain since White Sand was written before Mistborn. Hopefully, it will stay limited to those two, at least.
guikoden he/him Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I am really looking forward to seeing how the book translates into comic. I am little sad that it won't turn into a trilogy initially (here's to hoping). However, I think this is a good move for Brandon. It gets his name out. His series are amazing and deserve the pending video game and movies. Anyway reading his unpolished version now. 1
Dellexe he/him Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Going to ask for a copy of the book. The Comics will definitely get his name out. Hopefully the Final Empire movie rights get taken up again, that would be awesome.
The Shadow he/him Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I haven't read any western comics so I don't know much about the company. Do you guys have any opinions on them? Their work is good, but they have a nasty habit of prematurely cancelling series. If they've signed a deal for three, it'll probably be fine, but...
Argent he/him Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I liked what they did with The Eye of the World, but I am not big on comics so I don't have anything to compare it with.
Pathfinder Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 So i know discussing books like White Sand, and Aether of Night are taboo on the forum in general, but are there actual places here where it IS allowed to be discussed without fear of recrimination or penalty? I understand why on whole it is not allowed, and respect that, but I have learned A LOT from discussing the published novels with people here and although I know the unpublished are not canon and subject to change, I still think it would be nice to talk about it with others who have also read them.

Left he/him Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Will brandon sign our copies? I mean he won't do WoT, but Whitesand is his sooooooo
WeiryWriter he/him Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I don't see why he wouldn't, and with WoT he just won't sign the books he *didn't* work on, but he'll sign The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight and A Memory of Light.
Seonid he/him Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Can I get added to that White Sand PM thread?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 For anyone interested in how this is coming, Peter just posted this on Reddit: The production has been going a lot more quickly in the last few weeks. The scripts for the first graphic novel are done, and the pencils for the first chapter are done. We're now doing tryouts on colorists. 4
Pathfinder Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Do we know who is going to be the artist? I am curious to see his or her previous work so I can start picturing in my head how it might come out. 1
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 so has there been any news about this. Yeah there has been. The first voulme is about 70% complete and is unlikely to come out this year (next spring is more likely) but we should have a better idea by the end of the year. New art comes in every week. 3
bookspren Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 That's good to hear. Where did you find that out?
Kaladin al'Thor Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I asked Peter about it on Twitter several weeks ago. "Getting new art pages a few times each week! No release date yet." I cannot wait until this comes out, I really enjoyed the White Sand draft they sent me! 1
Sarge he/him Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Very encouraging news! I can't wait to read it. I've been trying to get a draft for some time but apparently Mr Sanderson doesn't like me

Peter told me they are swarmed with work these days, however, so it might not even be personal.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Yeah, between book tours, editing upcoming books, the Holiday shopping season; things are probably pretty insane at DragonSteel Inc.!
Kaladin al'Thor Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 It took half a year after sending a very flattering email to get mine, don't be discouraged!
