What We can do With Wind Fabrials (Fabrail Cannons and possibly safe Highstorm travel)

Fabrail's are going to play a big role in SA4.  With new weaponry in demand for fighting thunderclasts and fused I was wondering about cannon design.  We know from the ars arcanum that you can make augmenter fabrails that enhance an attribute.  We can also make the reverse diminisher fabrails that do the inverse.  Thanks to Oathbringer we know that these two types of fabrail can actually be the same fabrail(Navani with the painrail at Theylan Field) with a dial that controls weather the attribute is increased or decreased.  Then it hit me.  What would happen if we captured a windspren and made it into an augmenter fabrial?  Could we increase the pressure dramatically in an area?  Like inside the barrel of a cannon?  Then we plug the mouth of the cannon with the payload and reverse the fabrail from augmenter to diminisher and boom.  Cannon successful!

I took this step one step further after this.  Another thread pointed out that a major problem that Roshar has is that maritime trade has to be reduced due to the constant threat of highstorms.  I wondered what would happen if you used this technique of increasing pressure to duplicate Kaladin's use of adhesion in Oathbringer(he saves the newly enslaved humans right before he leaves to return to Urithiru) Could this highpressure system keep the massive waves and winds from smashing a ship?  Stormlihgt would obviously not be a problem during a highstorm.

Nice, airguns should definitely be possible via fabrials. The air pressure fabrial sounds good too. I wonder if the same could also work with the Everstorm or how Odium would react to that

You would have to worry about infusion drain.  Also some of the damage comes from lightning which might target kinetic Honor investiture.

I think it would work but I'm doubtful that they would come up with it.

Can you explain why?

Just cause we already have cannons and its relatively easy to come up with a new way (wind fabrials) to do the same thing (launch a heavy projectile a far distance). We haven't seen any kind of siege weaponry or any evidence of understanding air pressure on Roshar, so it seems like a big jump.

Yes we have.  First assault on the rift.

Scribes can estimate altitude by measuring air pressure as of Oathbringer.  Also stormwardens would almost certainly need to have a way of measuring accurately to get weather predictions.

Welp. I guess it's more plausible then I thought. What seige weapons were at the rift?
