Ok, I've got Lynn's backstory figured out.  She was the heir to the throne of Gondor, after her older brother passed away, she was forced into the position after being trained for 2 years as a Rangers apprentice.  She absolutely hated the politics, responsibility, and pressure of being the heir.  So, she decided to leave, she had one younger brother that would be perfect for that role, having the intellect of even the oldest wizard.  She left a note for her family, explaining things.  But still, Aragorn and Arwen sent out a notice for her to be brought back to Minas Tirith if found.  I think this will tie in later in the story, maybe.  Any problems?

That was one change that Aragorn made when Arwen became pregnant, so even if it was a girl, she could still rule.  The people were a bit unhappy with it, but, when he had a Male child, they were ok with it.  But then her brother died and Lynn was heir. I think that works.

Lynn lead the way off the trail, marveling at how dumb bandits could be.  I mean, carrying a map to their top secret hideout wherever they go?  She rode for a while, and finally saw, what was that?,  The so called "fortress" was a little stone hut.  Something was off, Storm shifted uncomfortably, showing his nervousness.  Lynn scanned the hut, it was too quiet.  The birds had stopped singing, the wind halted, all sounds were gone except the nervous prancing of the horses.  @Ookla the Ninja @ShadowLord_Lith @Merlin

Gallen rode up next to Lynn, watching the house silently. "The fancy guy ran off. It's just you, me, and the idealistic farm girl now." He looked over the hut. "Something is wrong... check the trees and see if anyone is hiding behind them. I'll check the house." He turned to look at Lisse. "And you... you can shoot a bow, right? And use a knife?" he kept his calm, mostly emotionless gaze on her. Honestly, she reminded him of his sister, and he felt irrationally fond of the farm girl. He just... had trouble showing it. Him asking after her ability to fight, offering to train her, being aware of her, even when she wasn't actively in the conversation yet, were all ways he showed he was thinking about her well-being and looking after her. Even so, he refused to coddle her. Reality was a hard lesson- and learning it quickly was necessary if you wanted to survive.

Lisse blushed a little. "No, I can't use a bow, but... I've been told I'm good with a knife." That was technically true. She'd been told by her great-grandmother once that she had a steady hand while cutting vegetables. (Her grandmother was an odd one for compliments.) @ShadowLord_Lith

Lynn suddenly realized a split-second too late what was wrong.  Wardings, one to conceal and one to warn of intruders.  "Run!"  Lynn yelled, but to no avail, whatever made it's home here came pouring out, Men, Orcs, and mixed breeds all around.  There were at least a hundred.  Lynn looked at Gallen, and at Lessie.  And for the first time in many years, swore.  This was bad.  She didn't see a way out.  Might as well give them something to be sorry for. @Merlin @ShadowLord_Lith

He glared, suddenly off of his horse. "You two- I'll meet you in Bree or Tharbad. Two weeks at most. Ride now, I can hold them off and escape if I have too- you won't be as lucky. Go, now, and train The farm girl in some blasted decent weaponry." He pulled out his sword and knife, holding both and ignoring the girls as he went on what was likely a suicide mission. except, he had meant it. He could take down plenty of them, and his leather armor was enough that his only real opponents would be the orcs and mixed breeds. That was two thirds of the number, but gave him decent chances of surviving. Especially with that peculiar style, making him look like a meat grinder more than a man. Still, he would live long enough to actually buy them some decent time, if they ran. And they might capture him instead of killing him.

Lynn motioned for Lisse to go.  This was no place for a girl who knew nothing about fighting.  Lynn was going to stay and fight.  She had a mithrail shirt on.  One that Sam had given her at the start of her apprenticeship, one that once belonged to Frodo.  "I will stay and fight."  With that, and a silent prayer, she drew her weapons and charged.  @ShadowLord_Lith @Merlin

Lisse started to turn around, but hesitted. They couldn't fight all these by themselves! Then Lynn impaled a bandit, and Lisse panicked. She kicked poor Tom harder than she should have to get away, and he startled and bolted down the road back to Bree.

So, how long is it going to take for you two to be done kicking these guy's sorry buttocks? If you want it to be a while,  I can get captured by a bandit we missed or something, who can tow me back to you all. Is that good? @ShadowLord_Lith @Ookla the very snazzy

I'm good with whatever. :)

Gallen didn't waste the breath cursing Lynn, but his anger was clear in the sudden ease and skill with which he wielded his blades. He'd needed them both to leave so Lynn could protect the defenseless farm girl while they traveled on the open, easily stacked road. But no, of course- no one but himself could think straight... he'd have words with her about being a hero later... hopefully Lisse survived.

Me too.  There are a few bandits out there, so if you wanted to write a scene, you can.  (Edit: If you don't want this to happen, what I did in my post, you can tell me.)

Lynn knew that Gallen was mad that she just rushed headlong into situations, but it wasn't her fault.  That was just her nature, she dove through the bandits, passing the illusion spell and seeing, was that a Castle?  Lynn wheeled Storm into the bandits, knocking them down.  She attained an arrow to the shoulder and cursed again, they were two against many, but they were stronger than this.  and, she remembered some words, words that summoned one of the most powerful people, "Beri- ammen."  there was a burst of light, and there was a barrier between half of the forces and them.  There, however, were still a few bandits who escaped into the trees.  Lynn. Immediately felt a drain of her strength.  And, she promptly passed out. @Merlin @ShadowLord_Lith

Gallen continued the slaughter, not understanding how the weird music had suddenly appeared, or really caring. He just fought desperately to stay alive and end the lives of the enemies around them.

I thought he had as well, but this whole thing is AU and Watching others do things can be interesting. I'll go along with anything and find ways to make it interesting. :)

@Ookla the very snazzy Eldarion survives to become king according to Tolkien’s later writings. He actually started a book but didn’t finish. Arwen and Elessar had only the one son, though they had many daughters. Their children were counted among Men. This is all cannon. Eldarion would later deal with a cult dedicated to the worship of Morgoth and his servant Sauron. Not that you need to follow any of that, but it’s good to know.

...So I may seriously adore Tolkien’s legendarium.

May I join?

Macalaure watched from the shadows. The sounds of battle had woken him, merging with the greater one of his dreams.

Sighing, he drew his father’s blade. Bandits. Fools, wasting their short lives seeking to gain what was not theirs. But then, he was a son of Feanaro and they had never been fond of thieves.

Swift, he moved, dancing twixt the clumsy, oafish fools. In out of the shadows; to their eyes he seemed to be one, for such was the power of Luthien’s cloak. His sword - the first forged- struck true, once, twice, thrice. His enemies fell and his voice, greatest of those left in Endor; greatest of all his kin, perhaps; rose as he fought, weaving in and out of the Great Music of which Eru created all.

When at last he paused, his song still, all those who fought lay dead before him. Macalaure raised his head, and his eyes shone with a light more pure than the sun and the moon at their first rising, which, indeed, those eyes had seen.

Note: this is a real Tolkien character. He was born before the sun and moon and has survived fighting Morgoth’s forces! You know, the guy who Sauron serves? This, by the way, included multiple dragons. A bunch of bandits are a joke to him.

He also raised Elrond and Elros. After, essentially, orphaning them, of course.

His full name is Canofinwe Macalaure Feanarion. Also known as (Gonfin) Maglor Feanorion. One is Noldorin Quenya, the other is Sindarin. He is sometimes called Cano or Laure. Also Melehta, or Melehtalindo. He also pronounces several S sounds as Th, due to the Shibboleth of Feanor.

Also, Magic in Tolkien’s world is linked to song. Literally. (See: Finrod and Sauron’s epic sing off.) Maglor is one of the three greatest elven singers of all time. Which basically equates to being a powerful magic user because Tolkien’s magic actually has rules and isn’t as soft as many think. (NONE of those rules are mentioned anywhere in LOTR, which is why everyone gets confused. The Silmarillion is a bit better. HOME has more.)

Also: if anyone is playing Gandalf, be aware that Cano knows him from Aman. He will ask questions about it.
