"I just want to go home," Star said quietly. 

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"Please," whispered Michael. "Don't kill him..."

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

Star looked Michael in the eyes. "Have you ever been in love?" she asked him.

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"...No."

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"It makes you do crazy things. I can't... I won't lose Pheo. Not like last time."

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Michael looked at her for a long moment, lost for words. Then he looked down, defeated.

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"Silence has refused me any information on Pheonix. I don't want to hurt anybody, but sometimes... Sometimes I have to make priorities. I miss him. You can't even begin to understand."

Michael said nothing, just continued to stare at the floor.

Xino sighed. "We should probably get going."

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

Star nodded. "Yes. Do you need help?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Xino looked at her, eyebrow raised. "Help? You're the one with the gun."

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"I don't know what I'm doing," Star said. 

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Xino stroked his chin. "Well, I think it's obvious by now that Silence is in the other Reality. And if he's transferring between Realities, he'll need some sort of gateway. Do you think you could detect something like that, if it existed?"

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"Possibly. But... should we leave Michael here? I mean... could he possible be used as... leverage or something?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"Leverage? Against Silence?" Xino frowned. "Would he really care that much about him?"

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

Star looked at Michael. "What do you think, kid?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Michael's eyes were closed, and he didn't respond.

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"Hey, are you okay?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

Xino cocked his head. "Is he...  meditating?"

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"I'm worried he's contacting Silence," Star said. She shook her head. "We can leave him, just..." She sighed. "Where to?"

Xino shrugged. "Your call, remember? See if you can find something... hole-like. Like my portal, if you remember that."

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"All right..." Star looked at Michael one last time. She didn't want to leave him behind. There was something within him, something special. She closed her eyes and searched. Silence's Realm was larger than she thought. But there was something... "I think I found something," she said, eyes still closed. "It's back the way we came. Not too far."

Star sighed. "Okay. C'mon, Shadow." She began walking out, making her way to the disturbance in reality. There was an uncomfortable feeling in the air, something foreboding that she couldn't shake.
