BoS gave her last huff, threw a second hatchet at Silence, and let the mimes take her.

I'm bored... Hmm, let's start an unnecessary plot point!

"Excuse me a moment," Ember said. She stood and descended the stairs to go below deck. Following Heather's mental signature, she located the girl she had burned. For a moment, she stared at her through the doorway. Star cared about her. Ember... Ember didn't feel anything. Not really. She did, however, know that she would be loyal to her master. And her master would want her to make up for her previous failure. Perhaps she would be proud of Ember for trying something like this on her own. She stepped, on feet made of iron, a little further into the room. "Heather," she said stiffly.

“What…?” Heather whispered. Tears continued to stream down her face and the guitar.

Got so used to not having to write in bold.

"I..." Ember struggled to find words for a moment. "I am sorry," she finally forced out. "I should not have laid a hand against you. I am grateful Tom found a way to heal the wounds I inflicted."

Ember blinked, looking over her for a few more seconds. "No," she decided. "I see nothing obvious to indicate the cause of your emotional condition."

"But at what cost? HAL felt that the astronauts were getting in the way of his directive, so he killed them." Except David Bowman, who killed him in return.

Ember did not get up. She sensed that their encounter had not gone very well, though she could not pin point what it was that went wrong. Was she the one at fault or was Heather just... opposed to her? Her exchanges with Tamika and Star and Tom had gone well enough. Or had they? Ember felt an emptiness in her chest. The human emotion... loneliness. And no one cared about little Ember. She hung her head, feeling an odd tingling at the corners of her eyes.

Ouch. And oof.

Heather peaked into the room. Was Ember…Crying? Robots can cry? She sighed. Social interactions were not her forte… Heather walked back in and sat across from Ember. “Sorry…Just a bit upset.”

Ember waited for her to finish before realizing that she did not intend to. "You have lost much," she said. "I can feel your aura. It is... empty. Like the metallic ringing of a bell signaling an ending."
