Argent he/him Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I see everyone here is having fun, which is great, but I feel like I need to come rain a little bit on your parade, if you pardon the turn of phrase. Animated images, especially ones with rapidly changing colors and/or bright lights can be unpleasant or annoying for some people to look at, and when those images are forum avatars, there is little those people can do to avoid that. So maybe you could keep those for a little while longer, say until the end of the week, and then replace them with something less... flashy? As for this thread specifically, it is probably a fine place to continue sharing both pride stories and seizure-inducing rainbowed GIFs :) 2

I'll have you know that I spent a quarter hour in Word painstakingly cropping and recoloring six distinct sections of my original white-on-black photo. I swear. If so, what do you do there? (My school's Pride Club is primarily a friend group but we do some activism things, plus parties ) 1

I just found out my ten year high school reunion is on Pride in my city - hoping I can catch both - thankfully I should be able to fit the Parade in at least. As a funny story - in my first Pride Parade, years ago, my friends and I decided to walk in it with multi-colored shirts stating "We are just Froot Loops in a world full of Cheerios". It was the year before the parade really got big in the city, so there was still more people walking than watching, and most people just walked because it was fun. Somehow, my friends and I ended up near the front of the parade, and on the cover of the local newspaper. My grandma (who I had only recently come out to) brought it out at dinner, excited I was "in the paper" even though I wasn't even mentioned by name and it was a total fluke, haha. Hope everyone enjoys the month :). 4

Mainly because at the beginning of this school year, (I’m unfortunately not out of school yet) I hadn’t come out to anyone. As far as I know it’s mostly a social group here.
