anyone else reading it? Its kind of cool to see the stuff that he stole from his own stories. Do Parshmen melt if you put them in pure water or salt water?

I dont think so, if they "melt" in pure water or salt water then it would have been mentioned in the book. They are valued as servants and having a servant that melts would be a big deal.

Was this before the Cosmere and Shards? The Kkell powers are cool, but it seems sort of like they ended up getting bits of them each mixed into each of the other magic systems. It is also really wierd because when Im reading it, I take parts and say that went into Mistborn, that to warbreaker, and so on. Also are Kkell powers hereditary?

My first name is Devin, so it has a certain appeal.

I don't think this was part of the Cosmere. It feels too simplistic. And I can definitely tell how much better Brandon's gotten since writing it.
