John killed one more thug, and backed off. Were they retreating? Or were they preparing for another assult?

Nerin stepped back against the wall, shocked at the sudden destruction around her.

God beyond, she thought, staring in horror at the bodies of the Scarlets littering the ground like spent bullets. Who are these people?

The Coppercloud at the end of the alley had lowered his knife into a defensive stance and was slowly backing away, face a mask of terror and rage. The other remaining Scarlets also edged backwards, probably too shocked to run quite yet.

"L-leave us," Nerin called to him, breathing fast. "Unless you want the same!"

He continued to stare at the destruction, the blood on Vena's massive spectral sword. He took another step back.

"Let's hope the old man has as skilled friends as you," he said softly. "This ain't over, girl."

Then, he nodded over his shoulder and the Scarlets melted back into the streets, one man flat-out sprinting away. Nerin could hear them calling to one another, but she was too stunned to do anything but slump against the wall of the cobbler's shop. She slid down until she was sitting on her heels, trying her best not to look at all the blood. Instead, she stared at her hands, slowly twisting the strap of her bag.

"Th-thank you," she said, still staring at her fingers. They were shaking.

Vena dismissed her blade.

"No problem. But what was he saying about an old man? Is he talking about Jeb? Whatever he means, I have a feeling we need to get to the Parlor, fast."

Vena's words entered her mind as though through a thick fog.

The parlor? She let John help her up, still reeling. Then, finally, the Coppercloud's words lodged somewhere clearly enough for her to replay them.

"I hope the old man has as skilled friends as you..."

"Oh Harmony," she whispered, cold dread coiling in her stomach. They'd left Jeb alone, thinking he'd be safer there. "The Scarlets must have been watching the parlor. Oh Harmony, it's just the five of them there."

"I'm sure they can fend them off until we get there, but now we have to hurry!"

Vena walked out of the Alley and gestured to the others.

"Come on! We don't have any time to waste!"

John followed, sheathing his sword as not to draw attention. He started walking at a fast pace back to the parlor, paying no attention if the others were following.

Atmose drew a quick, flimsy line of forbiddance that barely blocked the bullet, he stepped out of the way of the line, no time to dismiss it, and whispered to the chalklings, telling them to attack. They surged toward the two attacking thugs, while Atmose fired off lines of Revocation, knocking them down, and the Chalklings surrounded the Thugs.

"Those chalklings will eat and gnaw at you. It will be slow, and agonizing. You can either die, or you can tell me why you are here."

He laughed.

"We are here to kill the old man. And maybe you as well."

His face changed when the first chalkling reached him, started to gnaw at him, and he fired a bullet at it, but missed.

"Kill them all."

He commanded, drew his own knife and charge Atmose.

Feel free to take control over him.

Attayl heard the shot, then Atmose started talking. Why there were here, what they were doing. They paused their attacked, stared at the white drawings in disgust and so she didn't attack as well. It was unwise to bloody her hands first. She perked up, when she felt a pulse, a strange one, she couldn't place immediatly. She had felt it before, but where?

The thug in front of her charged and she sidestepped his attack, his knife only cutting her skin. Concentrating she let her body take over, her knife moving forward and into his stomach. He gasped and she smiled grimly, danced backwards out of his reach again.

The smaller one started to burn bendalloy, then they advanced on Jeb. Jeb screamed for help, used a kitchen knife to try to keep them at bay. He stood no chance against two enemies, that only lived because they fought better than those they killed. The old man was dead. Nobody would be here in time. He only didn't know it yet. They bound Jeb, pressed a gag into his mouth and held him tightly. The taller one laughed, drew his knife and looked in to dark, frightened eyes of his victim. He enjoyed what was about to come next. Killing people quickly was a feat everybody could achieve. Slowly was so much easier. Then they started to cut him up, made sure to leave their message. Blood covered the kitchen floor when they were finished, and the old man was lying liveless on the floor. Next to him was a single word, written in his blood.

Traitor.

The two men left the parlor quickly, their job done and vanished into the dark.

The deed is done. Feel free to kill the remaining four, or let them escape.

Itiah, one of them has no target yet, so if you want for Brillin to end in a fight it's possible.

As the man charged at Atmose, the brunt of the Chalklings swarmed him, climbing his skin, biting, chewing, his eyes, his mouth, his nose, anywhere they could hurt, they did hurt.

Atmose tried to look away as the Chalklings ravaged the screaming man. He focused on the other, shooting lines of Revocation, knocking them down, keeping them back until someone else came, or the Chalklings attacked them.

John stopped, screams echoing in the distance. "Isn't that the direction to the parlor?" He asked, turning to Nerin.

@ZincAboutIt

Nerin looked down the street. They were about three blocks away from the parlor now, and the alleys were strangely empty for this hour. Rusts.

A gunshot sounded.

"Hell," Nerin whispered, quickening her pace, terrified of walking into a firefight, terrified for Jeb. Terrified.

No, no, no, she thought desperately, leading the group around another corner. She still had some Brass left inside of her - maybe she could stop the fighting. Stop all this madness. Harmony please, she prayed, starting to run now as the screaming became louder. Please.

John ran after Nerin, drawing his sword as he went. He glanced down. There was a gun right there. He picked it up, and continued running. How do you use one of these?

Attayl heard the man start screaming and looked over, stared at him aghast when she saw the chalk drawing eat him up, rip him apart. Blazing pain cursed through her body and she screamed. Distraction. Never get distracted. Instinct saved her, had her pull up a knee, up and forward, into the groin of the man and she screamed in fear, in resolution. He recoiled, pain glazing his eyes over and this time she remained focused. Her knife slashed out for his throat and she cut it open, blood running over her hand, her dress. He clawed at his torn skin and she whirled around. One was getting eaten alive, one she had killed. The other two were lying on the ground. Atmose seemed to have the situation well in hand. Concentrating on her bronze she realized, that the pulsing had stopped.

“I’ll check on Jeb.”

She called and ran towards the kitchen. On her way there she passed one, who was clutching his leg and she bent down, killed him as well. She had forgotten how easy it was. How quickly you could shut some eyes forever. Then she opened the door. Jeb, lying on the ground a gruesome message on the floor next to him. Traitor. Slowly she took a step into the room, stared at his still form. He had been kind to her. Had offered her a place to stay and wanted nothing in return. Attayl slowly kneeled down next to him, closed his eyes.

Brillin heard screaming and he opened his eyes sharply. He had to get up, help Attayl, help the parlour. But he would die! But before he could think about it further Brillin forced himself up and out, the trapdoor swinging open and Brillin jumping out, right next to a goon.

The man was taken by surprise and before he could hit Brillin with a his cudgel Brillin flinched and aimed a punch right at the man’s face. It was a punch with all the strength he could muster, and normally it would have worked just fine. But simply because of his Koloss-blood, the lunch was way stronger than intended and the man collapsed on the ground.

Unsure what to do with his hands Brillin looked around frantically and awkwardly, seeing a man covered in blood, and others dead. “Rust and Ruin!” He cursed.

John tripped and fell, but quickly got back up. Nerin was in the distance, almost to the door. John sprinted after her. Something bad had happened. Just what though, was a mystery. Edit:

This will allow her to have her ankle broken, Zinc. It just means that I have to move my character along a little faster. Sorry for my impatience :)

He leaped over her as she tripped and fell on the ground, holding her ankle.

Vena ran to the parlor and opened the door.

"Oh my god!" She yelled, seeing the chewed up man. "Atmose did you- Nevermind, are you okay?"

Atmose eyed the two man on the floor. "I'm okay, but something happened in the back, I was about to go check after I boxed these two in."

Garth had retreated to the back of the room, eyes wide.

He had pulled his gun out of its holster, a long silver barrel, three tunnels for the bullets to travel down, engraved with the feruchemic chromium and the allomantic steel signs. A dark wood for a handle, and an ivory trigger.

Inside he had multiple bullets that were made to explode on impact, sending shrapnel in the first barrel. The left one below had a small grappling hook. The right one had regular bullets.

He moved a small lever, setting it to the regular bullets.
