Shae blinked, frowning. "What...? But... we aren't fighting. I'm not mad at you, and I wouldn't attack you if I was..." He was confused, not really understanding Dan's awkward invitation to spar.

He hesitated. "Wait... you mean sparring? Like... practicing fighting with each other?" That would make way more sense to him...

He smiled. "Well... I haven't been able to fight anyone in quite a while... So, why not?" He grinned, looking forward to the exercise. He wondered where they'd go to do it though.

"Sure, great!" Dan said, a smile coming onto his face. Why was he getting excited about this, again? "Okay, follow me." The distance to the recreational field was small enough that Dan could run there without wanting to fly instead, and he really needed to exercise his legs more. He started running over to the field. It didn't look like there were many people there.

Shae blinked, chuckling as he started jogging to keep up with Dan. Ah jogging, one of the few exercises that he still did regularly...

I cannot look like I never run anywhere in front of this guy, Dan thought, keeping pace with Shae until they got to the field. He stopped and put his hands on his knees, puffing, then stood straight again and said, "Okay, what do you want to do?"

Shae was less winded than Dan, though not by very much. He smiled, looking around. "Well... you want to wrestle, so we'll do that, but first, let's practice fist-fighting. I haven't been able to fight a person hand to hand in a very long time and... Honestly, I feel a bit of nostalgic excitement about the idea." He grinned, carefully moving into a ready stance. It was just a simple starting stance, but it did give you somewhere to start and a decent defense.

He grinned, knowing that his only real chance against the mountain of muscle and bone in front of him was to hit weak points and fight dirty. He decided to try to win without resorting to that first, and us the dirty option as a last resort. So he stepped forward, ducking low to move even further below Dan's typical range of motion before sending a kick with as much force as he could muster into Dan's gut, knowing he'd be at least partially ready. No, he doubted he'd be able to hurt Dan very much...

That was intentional.

Shae let himself drop a little lower, unhand supporting him so he wouldn't lose balance completely while the leg he'd hit Dan's stomach with slammed upwards and into his chin, hopefully dazing him. Or, that was the intention of the kick. Honestly, the wind he'd felt when dodging the strike ,and the fact that the fists had been at most an inch from his nose had him on edge- he'd have broken something if he weren't so short and flexible. This was going to be a very dangerous, very painful game...

Dan dodged, knocking Shae's leg out from under him, so he push hard with hand on the ground and kick his recently dislodged leg forward as hard as he could. The launch with his hand was easily enough to get him close to someone that close to him, and his  foot... he wasn't worried about breaking bones in this fight. If Dan dodged this and hit him, he'd really only be fighting to see how long he could last.

...You did that entire thing in first-person.

"Hmrph," Dan grunted as Shae's foot made contact with his gut. He didn't lose focus, though, just grabbed the foot and slammed it sharply downward.

Fixed it.

Shae grunted, then bent his knee to quickly move himself towards Dan, doing a sit up as he lashed out with a bent elbow aimed for Dan's neck. He knew Dan would dodge this, he just planned to use it as a distraction so he could get out of the larger man's grip- after all, elbow someone in the neck and you might crush their windpipe. There was no way Dan would let that attack through with the kind of momentum he had thrown behind it.

Hahaha...

Dan tucked in his chin and took the elbow to his jaw. "Ouch," he growled as searing pain raced up his face. He let go of Shae completely on accident, going down on his knees and feeling decidedly stupid for trying to get hit.

Shae performed a backwards somersault to get on his feet, then leapt at Dan. He intentionally turned that leap into a partial flip to get his legs out of the way of Dans horns, then grabbed them with his hands, which let him finish the flipping motion. Of course, he happened to land with one foot on a patch of some looser dirt, which caused him to slip and he just managed to avoid stabbing his eye out, slitting his cheek open as he did so. He was also now a step behind on his attack plan, which meant that Dan could easily turn the tables. Colors.

Shae was flung around like a ragdoll, getting a few more cuts from the horns across his face and arms, along with a gash across his palm. When Dan spun him around, Shae did his best to curl up and keep on spinning. When he hit the ground, he tried to keep that turning momentum and kick out with his now-curled up legs at the same time, hoping to get Dan to overbalance and be thrown a short distance away.

He's like a little kid that I'm trying to pin down so I can take them to bed. Geez. Then Dan saw the cuts on Shae and ignored the pain from Shae's kicks, instead leaning down and licking Shae's face thoroughly. He realized that he'd done that without thinking at all, but kept going until nothing was bleeding anymore.

Shae blinked, freezing when the licking started and locking his mouth shut to keep from getting...He realized it was Dan at about the same time realized that the pain from the cuts had vanished. It had been replaced pleasant relief, and he mentally bit his lip in wary caution. If this kind of thing didn't stop happening, he'd start associating being licked with feelings of relief. He didn't know what would happen then, but he certainly didn't know if he wanted to find out. When Dan was done, Shae sort of sat there, a bit stuck. He'd lost his momentum, and Dan was on top of him keeping him pinned firmly to the ground, so he had no way out of this position. He could barely move his arms because of the way Dan was pressing down on his shoulders. So he had no choice but to let the spit dry on his face, which was not a pleasant idea. His face would smell like Dan's breath until he could wash it.

He grimaced, looking at him and his eyes. He really had no option, since he wasn't about to kick Dan in unmentionable places, so he tried to move his hand to wipe his face before he spoke. Yes, the spit had dried, saliva dries remarkably quickly, but it just felt gross. He chose to very strongly ignore any part of his brain that said it was anything other than gross.
