Dan thought about that for a moment. "I don't have any other hobbies, actually. The idiot writing me doesn't know how to properly develop characters. I like learning about geography, and ecology, and anatomy. I think it's interesting, like how your bones are sized in comparison to the rest of your body. I have proportionally longer legs than you, for example. Also," Dan looked up at an interesting cloud, "I like drawing sometimes, though I'm no good at it."

He smiled, nodding. "Alright... Let's start there. Would you like me to teach you how to draw? I just need to know where to start. How good are you at drawing animals?"

[Sherlock Holmes he/him]

“I can draw dogs and cats and birds fairly well. And I can kinda draw people.” Admitting this to Shae felt strangely like he was letting his friend down. I guess I can’t be as awesome as he is, though.

He smiled.  "Alright, could you show me? We can head back to the art studio and you can draw me." He smiled.

“Right,” Dan said, standing up and picking Shae up (JUST because it was faster), then flying down to the school and dropping Shae off at the door, then going to the art room skylight and unlocking, jumping into the room and locking the skylight behind him.

Shae walked in, smiling and looking up at him. "Alright. How should I pose?"

"Just smile and stand there," Dan said, picking up a piece of paper and a pencil.

He nodded, smiling and standing casually in front of him.

Dan drew for a few minutes, then sighed and picked up the paper, walking over to Shae and handing it to him. “You look a lot better in real life,” Dan said quietly, looking at his feet.

Shae looked at it, chuckling. "Alright... Not the worst I've seen come here to learn. Let's get you working slightly on proportions, and then we'll move on. For now, it's my turn. Get up and pose however you want. I mean that, by the way, any pose. Sad, happy, taking off, sexy, scared... I'm ready for for anything you try." He smiled, not giving the sketch back and instead folding it up and slipping it into a pocket in his pants.

"You just made a mistake," Dan said. Sexy. Think. He made the eyes at Shae and leaned back slightly, angling his ears up and putting his hands on his hips.

Shae bit his lip, raising an eyebrow. "Sexy, huh? You just might regret that when I'm done..." He chuckled almost darkly, then began his work. He sketched very quickly, with the speed and skill that comes from decades of practice and natural talent.

"Yeah, I'm sure it'll be very regrettable," Dan said, maintaining his pose.

It was a slip of the tongue, and I kinda like it that way. He had to grow up fast, and he see's himself as older than he is. I think it fits his inner dialogue.)

Shae sketched, then stood, and moved an easel over, a paintbrush and paints beginning to move over the canvas. When he was done, about an hour later, he smiled, then pulled out a stamp as he began to carve, humming softly to himself. "I'll be done in five minutes. No looking at it yet, but you can move around." He grinned.

"Okay," Dan said, and sat down on one of the tables opposite Shae, making faces at Shae while he tried to work.

Shae seemed lost to the world as he carved the thing, and occasionally his leg twitched as if the muscle had relaxed for a second and almost let him collapse. Five minute's later, the best and most beautiful art he'd produced so far was in his hands, and he smiled. "Forging is my truest passion... I do my best work when I'm trying to make a stamp. Alright, come over and see what I've done." He collected some ink while he waited. The painting was almost like a picture, terrifyingly realistic, and so lifelike one might've thought that the Dan in the picture might blink. A frozen moment in time.

"I am pretty sexy," Dan said sarcastically as he looked over at the picture, then gasped. "Duuuuuude. Duuuuuude. That is amazing. You're ama-- I mean, awesome. You're awesome, and that picture is like looking in a Sisters-cursed looking-glass. Holy wow."

He chuckled, an almost evil grin across his face at that. "Why, thank you. Now for the part that'll make both of us embarrassed." He held up the stamp, freshly inked. "I don't know what this'll do, but it'll make the painting change as if I'd painted it and was both gay, and secretly perverted. Are you sure you want to see what my mind might come up with?" He raised an eyebrow, internally hoping he'd say no. he'd done something like this once before, and he'd never really regretted something nearly as much as he had in that moment.

"You're not gay?" Dan asked, slightly panicked.

He hesitated, thinking about it. "I... don't know. I've never really thought about whether I love someone or not. I don't really know the feeling. Why? What has you so upset suddenly?" He looked at him, curious before intentionally stamping the painting. He didn't look, gauging Dan's reaction. He'd restate his question afterwards. He'd look and see how his painting had changed before that though.

Dan made a face at the portrait of himself, then fell back against the table behind him laughing. "Oh moons... look..." he gasped at Shae.

Shae blinked, then looked, freezing. So many thoughts flashed through his head he didn't know where to start, except by throwing out the tiny one... few? The part that wanted to admire it. He forced himself to look away, blushing deeply and very carefully grabbing a knife before looking at the painting and focusing on the spot he'd stamped. He almost swore, then promised himself to look before stamping things from now on. "Get your act together already! Colors, I didn't think..." He bit his lip, focusing on getting the stamp broken without damaging the painting.

"I'm not gonna lie," Dan said, looking at Shae. "I kinda want to see a picture of you like that. For scientific purposes, so we can properly gauge which one of us is sexier." He took the knife out of Shae's hand before he could damage it, and set it on the table behind him. "I like it. Just to illustrate how fabulous I am, I mean."

Shae blushed deeply, his mind half considering it. Then he thought about it some more and had a revelation. He hadn't blushed at this, but... He smiled as innocently and confusedly as he could at Dan, rolling his eyes for good measure. "Sure... I'll make you one and see how you like it." He chuckled, shaking his head as if he were joking. Oh he hoped Dan thought that was true. Just seeing the look on his face would be worth whatever that other version of him came up with. In fact... he had an idea to make the thing even better...

"Ooh, yeah, do it," Dan said, then walked over to the other side of room, looking at some WIPs like he wasn't excited to see what Shae made.
