The Feruchemist Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 I just want to say that all of you are very mature and kind, and I’ve really enjoyed being a part of this forum. I feel that I tend to have unpopular opinions and it’s fun to see other people share my feelings on things. Or not and be nice about it. 9
Eris she/her Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 I hope everyone is nice or if they're not it is just a misunderstanding of context (which is me so much) I'm along with everyone else are happy you are enjoying your time on the forums. There are a lot theories so someone probably shares it 1
+Ark1002 Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Don't know if this is the right location for the thread, but I've had the same experience. 1
Razrback16 Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 +1, OP. Ya it's good to always be friendly even if you disagree with something someone says and try not to be rude / confrontational. I think most folks here have done a fantastic job of that in my experience as well. 1
Mailnaise she/her Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 I feel like most people on here are so desperate to talk about this stuff with others, being rude and losing that chance just isn't worth it. No but really y'all are great 3
Wyndlerunner he/him Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Same! I feel like the Shard is one of the best places on the internet. Granted, we are a book lover community, and in my experience, well-read individuals are more prone to reasonable and respectful discussion than those who are not. 1
Jaywalk he/him Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Almost every other forum on the internet I’ve read is full of people going at each others’ throats. The Shard is the first place I haven’t seen stuff like that, so it’s a great overall experience, especially compared to the rest of the internet. 2
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Yes, I keep on being happy and grateful that you can discuss any book or theory or character, as well as stuff like religion, politics and even The Last Jedi (!!!) without a flame war happening. Storms, not even the insult thread went out of hand. Its awesome. Edited January 12, 2019 by Toaster Retribution 2
