Pretty simple question with potentially more than one answer.

Presented as is I think the first logical conclusion is, "unite humans against the voidbringers".

Now we know Roshar isn't quite the human-centric world, united could be Parshendi and Human.

...Or is the scale bigger? Unite the 16? (well, 13 or 14 and some splinters I guess...)

Dalinadonalsium? Kinda catchy really. Rolls off the tongue...

Your take?

"Voidbringers" at this point I think is independent of race. Unite the people of Roshar against those who would support the destruction brought by Odium. Moash, for example, I think can clearly be labeled as a "voidbringer". Rlain is not a voidbringer, easy call. Dalinar's job is to recruit anyone and everyone willing and able to fight the void offered by Odium

I've written this before, but I'm 100% certain that "unite them" at least means "unite humans and listeners".

Odium and the Fused don't give a crem about whether or not the listeners survive this. For them, they're meatsuits waiting to be occupied, and should the listeners perish along with humans on their rampage, who cares? For all Odium or the Fused care, all of Roshar could explode.

So. I'm pretty sure "humans vs. listeners" won't be the solution.

I'm far from Cosmere-savvy, so I can't say much about that.

Unite Roshar in its entirety, singers included, against Odium.

And on the grander scale, unite the fragmented pieces of Honor.

Unite the three Shards in the Rosharan system. Defeat Odium by forcing him to do that which he wishes least to do: take up another Shard, specifically the one he's slaughtered on Roshar. Poetic justice for the win :P

It actually meant unite Adolin and Shallan. Honor really doesn't like Kaladin. Dalinar can retire now.

I am going to find more of your posts... Just so I can give you more upvotes for this.

I'm new here so I realize I'm a little late to the party but I was rereading OB recently and there is a scene right at the end of chapter 38 inside one of the visions with Dalinar, Navani, and the Stormfather sitting in a cave where the 9 Honorblades are stuck in the ground. They just happen to be talking about the Heralds when a Shin looking man stumbles in, kneels before the circle of blades, then says only 2 words to Dalinar in Honor's voice. "Unite Them"

I'm convinced, because Honor wouldn't have known the Everstorm would happen, that he meant for them to unite the Heralds in order to yet again drive back the voidbringers.

Tanavast's cognitive shadow that the Stormfather absorbed speaking to Dalinar. It will have many meanings, uniting the different species of Roshar, uniting the remnants of Honor, maybe uniting the 3 shards or just Honor and Odium into Justice.

Then Dalinar will take it too far and unite everything in the Cosmere into a monstrous singularity that consumes all the resources needed to sustain life.  https://psmag.com/social-justice/nick-bostrom-superintelligence-singularity-technology-future-books-90067

My guess is it has multiple meanings, but the three meanings I keep thinking makes the most sense are uniting:

  1. the Heralds with their Shardblades.
  2. the different factions of Radiants.
  3. the spren to the possible Radiants

Then there is of course Oathbringer - unite the 3 Realms and form honor's perpendicularity

Or the best fan theory I've heard - unite Kelsier and Kaladin (ship 'em real good).

Stormfather... that makes waaaaaaay too much sense!

I can see SA phase 2 (the "back five") as organized around the Heralds having become servants of Cultivation, who now try to prevent her from being united with the dishard of Odium and Honor, or alternatively are trying to make sure she is the one who gets to take up three Shards total, here.

I always thought it was Dalinar's understanding of Honor's shardic intent leaking through their bond.  Perhaps it is more general though.  Figure out the common ground, build relationships(Adolin+Shallan but also the coalition of monarchs), bring people together, and allow people to understand each other.

I personally want to see Dalinar to spend some time educating Gawx.  Teaching him that the Alethi are human just like his own people.
