The War of the Spark story is rather bland and contains absolutely nothing of any import about Davriel. So the story aspect of these cards is poor.

I want more Davriel cards in Core set 2020.

The WAR novel itself is incredibly bad. It honestly reads like a poorly planned-out first or second draft, and most of the book is literally exposition. There's no dramatic arc to the plot, it's literally just the climax of the story (the final battle against Nick Bolas)

Going back to CotN though, Davriel is basically just Lightsong isn't he? He's witty and secretly hates himself, and he's actually an accountant at heart (or in previous life). And Miss Highwater you could almost say is Blushweaver 2.0.

wow, good job noticing that. I didn't see that, but now it seems to fit perfectly.

Is there any chance at all of this getting a paper release sold in stores?

Have there been any news? I checked the linked page (official Magic the Gathering) and it said that the story was offline due to a pending physical release. I do not know how long it said so and how long this might take but I really hope that they do mean a release in english. It might be possible that the story was taken offline due to the release of the german physical edition in november last year. Same thing happend to a short story of Simon Beckett a while ago. Does anyone have more information on this one?
