+Sorana she/her Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 Althea followed Max, somehow proud that he rushed to help a stranger, admiring the fact again that he was good person, way too good for herself. She touched her ring, looked at it again. Married. It was getting late and slowly she felt the exhaustion of the previous days settle in again. She hadn't slept at all in three days? Or was it four already? She had lost track somewhere. Exhilaration could fuel you only so far. She smiled at the woman, he had helped and then silently turned to him. How long do you want to stay? And where do you want to ... spend the night? @I think I am here.

And where do you want to ... spend the night? @I think I am here. Max listened to the woman who'd knocked over the table. She'd said the wedding was cool. "Well, thanks," he said. He was happy people were enjoying the wedding. Keeping back a yawn, he realized how tired he was. Oasis, then Solace, then the Wedding. It was all exhausting now that he'd gotten a chance for the adrenaline to wear off. He watched as Althea turned to him. How long do you want to stay? And where do you want to ... spend the night? Turning around, Max observed the party. By now, most of the celebrations had dissolved into quiet chatter among the guests, and most of the presents had been given. Turning back he spoke over their bond. Most of the party seems to be over by now, he said. We could probably leave now, if you want. Say goodbye to them. He thought about her second question, and after a pause answered. I have a room in the Canton, he said. But, it's quite bare, and not very private. The truth was that his room was more like something you'd find in an inn, alongside 12 other rooms just like it. Umm... you said you had a place? He asked, slightly embarrassed.

It's close to the lab. she replied and tried to remember if everything was alright there. It probably was. She tried to keep it clean and tidy. But then, she usually didn't have visitors. But don't expect something large. I only use it, when I'm here and not in Oasis City. She hesitated and then admitted:I'm tired. I don't know how much longer I will be able to really hold a conversation without falling asleep in between. The last days were ... exhausting.

Agreed, Max said, looking around. And don’t worry about falling asleep. After everything that’s been going on, you deserve a rest. He thought about what she said, that it wasn’t large, and realised he didn’t care. They would be there together, that was all that mattered.

I think I am here. he/him Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Quote Yeah, there’s definitely still time. Consider this like a final call to anyone who wants to give presents, then we’re off. Max thought about it, then smiled back. You say it. I’d probably mess it up somehow.
kenod Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 KanMien came in through the door, quickly running towards Althea and Max. "Sorry I'm late," they said, speaking quickly. "I didn't know that this was going to be a wedding, so I didn't have any gifts, so I needed to get one, so I went through the alleys and I managed to find something, but then I need to get back, and I'm not too late right?" They took a deep breath, and calmed down a bit. "Ah, sorry." They blushed a bit, and held out two wooden bands with spiraling patterns carved into them, the patterns flowing from one band onto the next. "I, well, I guess KoTiel, found these while traveling. Both of them have their own unique pattern, and when held against each other their patterns will complete each other. It is said that it is impossible for another band to be able to complete the pattern, so you'll always be able to recognize its twin." They smiled. "I believe that these bands were common gifts between couples back there, acting as a talisman to keep them linked together. There are even stories about couples who recognized each other after years of separation by finding out that their bands matched each other." They handed over the bands. Quote Sorry, no carved bones. 1

Althea accepted the bands and looked at them closely. They were right, their pattern really fit together perfectly. A talisman to keep them linked together. That fit them a lot better than KanMien knew. "Thank you. They are really beautiful. Especially with the meaning behind them." She gave one band to Max and then put hers on. She noticed how KanMien corrected themselves, and then gave the credit of finding the bands to KoTiel and filed that away. "If you talk to KoTiel again, could you tell them thank you as well? I haven't seen them the last few weeks, but we executed a plan against that huge machine threatening Alleycity together." Still smiling she walked back to her place and used a knife to gently tap against her glas and waited until it was silent. Then she started to speak to their guests. "We would like to thank you all for coming here and celebrating with us. I can't really express how much it means to me, that you took the time to come here and share this moment with us. Please feel free to stay as long as you wish, as we will retire for the evening now." Looking over at Max she blushed slightly, when her thoughts followed the word retire and set it in relation to "just married". Quickly she turned her focus back to their guests. That definitly needed to change. "We wish you all a good night and a safe travel home." She set the glass back on the table, took the figure with the sword, Max had placed close to his plate and walked over to him. "Do you have everything? If yes, I can lead the way." @I think I am here.
Gancho Libre he/him Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Xena smiled in relief, seeing that the newlyweds were turned away from her. Quietly, she slipped past them, and past the big mess she made, feeling a little guilty about just leaving it. 'Oh, well,' she thought. 'It's not like they want my help anyway, right?' She went back to her seat and sat down, despite the fact that everyone else had already gotten up.
Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 Quote I have permission for the following godmodding, worry not. Tena grabbed Ani by the sleeve and dragged him behind her as she walked out of the wedding hall. Lenare followed, keeping his eyes on Rena. She didn’t move as the three left.

It had an enchanting pattern on it, but as KanMien said, it wasn’t complete without its partner. A perfect gift for a newlywed couple. He saw how Althea lightly tapped a glass with a knife, effortlessly getting everyone’s attention. She said goodbye, and she looked over to Max and blushed, which made him go a little red as well. Finally, she finished and asked him if he had everything. “Wait a second,” he said, reaching down and grabbing the two Shardblades, which he’d leaned against his chair. “Yup, got everything now!” He said enthusiastically.

+Ark1002 Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Quote One question: How would she know about the problems related to touching dead shardblades?
+Sorana she/her Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Quote Because she's a scholar, worked for over 10 years with investiture and it's different forms. For me it would have been illogical if she didn't know something that central about her own. 1
+Ark1002 Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Quote The only problem is that is very limited knowledge. But in that case it is likely she would have come in contact with one, and that makes a lot more sense. Thanks.
+Sorana she/her Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 Quote Honestly? I'd written the whole scene with her touching it and ending up screaming on the floor. Reread it, to check for mistakes and then was like. "That doesn't fit her background. She definitly had contact with one before." And then I rewrote the entire scene... @2001Kra
