The attack would most likely clamp down on Kane's neck armor-- no wait, he summoned his spren as neck armor and attempted to stab Fang with a dagger, in the side.

Posted

Fangblade tried to scratch his Nightblood claws down Kane’s spine; from the position he was in, Kane would have to fling him off forcefully if he wanted to be free. That led to another question: how in the Cosmere was Kane remaining upright with a hundred-fifty pound canine on his back? Nothing makes sense.

The dagger bounced off of one of Fang’s ribs, and Fang growled, Spirit-Brother summoning in his jaws as a spear of sorts. This Fang bashed against Kane’s Shardplate.

Dusk wondered what the heck was happening. He then remembered that a duskbringer, or something, was swinging a shardblade at his face, on a different planet. He returned to Roshar.

No, ChayShan, a magic that allowed an amateur practitioner to crack the ribs of a full Dakhor monk, wouldn't allow a professional to hold a 150-pound deadweight. Definitely.

But seriously though, Kane could handle it.

Kane aimed a backfist at Fang's face.

It is technically but that degree would usually be considered ok.

The clamping down was the final action so you could still react before it actually takes any effect. In order to allow for nicer sentences and easier rp, if an action doesn't actually harm another character then it may be assumed to be an acceptable godmod. That being said it's always up to the other player if they want to veto it.

Gotcha. Thanks. It's fine though, because Kane has armor. Going into battle with bare skin isn't smart.

Kane's gauntleted fist was protected, and he grew an Amberite spike and tried to shove it down Fang's throat.

Fangblade, Compounding pewter something fierce, and with a Shardblade in his mouth, sliced the Amberite and tried to stab the Shardblade into Kane’s gauntleted fist.

Kane: 58

Fang: 54

Kane summoned the neck armour before the fangs could do any serious damage. -2 for minor scratches

He didn’t defend against the Type IV claws down his spine. I assume the Sentinel armour would protect him, but that’s still a lot of damage. -10

Fangblade clamps down on his fist. No damage from cuts, but a little damage from crushing because Fang is a supernaturally strong dog. -1

For Fang, saying the dagger “bounced off” doesn’t really work unless you say why. Assuming Fang has some defence, that’s still a -6.

Combined tooth damage. First from biting on Kane’s neck armour, then from clamping down on his gauntleted fist. -5

From Kane putting the spike in their throat, that would do incredible damage, but the compounded pewter reduces it to -5.

As a defence, cutting it with Shardplate won’t work. You have a huge gauntlet in your mouth with a spike inside, how are you going to hold the Shardblade with your mouth? How are you going to manoeuvre the cut, especially without injuring yourself? And if the spike is already near your throat, would you summon it inside? Not to mention even if you slice the amberite off from the gauntlet, that’s still a spike, albeit a loose one, in your throat. Please rework the defense.

Have it your way.

When I say that the dagger bounced off Fang’s ribs, I mean it bounced off his ribs. A dog’s ribs are just beneath its skin, that’s basically just killing nerves. Pain, but no real damage.

Dogs, especially dogs the size of Fangblade, have seriously huge jaws, and sharp teeth. When I say that Fang clamped down on Kane’s gauntlet, I mean that Fang entrapped Kane’s hand, just behind his knuckles, with his canine teeth. Dogs have long snouts, and if Kane grew a spike of Amberite (question: how did he grow Amberite from inside the gauntlet and get it out?), Fang could react fast enough for his spren to become a scythe-like blade inside his mouth, ‘attached’ to his back incisors. Then Fang need only move his head a little, and that would cut some of the Amberite from Kane’s hand, making it ‘die’.

Right.

We’ll change the -6 to a -2 for a basic cut on the skin (to reach the ribs) nothing to serious. Might be worth mentioning next time that (eg.) Fang turns his torso to make the knife hit the ribs, rather than just saying that the attack misses. Like if I say “Alan shoots and I dodge, making the bullets miss” as opposed to “Alan shoots and all the bullets miss” One’s controlling, one is not.

Due to the new information about how Fang makes the Shardblade, I’ll allow the defense. We’ll change the -5 to a -3 For any damage it might have done on the way, you still have to explain how the Shardblade doesn’t hit Fang. Next time it would specifying things like how the Shardblade is attached to his incisors to avoid any confusion like this.

Kane: 58

Fang: 60

The gauntlet isn't entirely sealed, so that Amberite can grow through.

Kane shifted his fist aside to avoid the Shardtooth and began pouring Lashings into Fang's body, attempting to send Fang flying towards the wall. He yanked his fist out of the gauntlet, leaving it in Fang's mouth while setting it to self-destruct, using Full Lashings to seal it in and grew an Amberite gauntlet.

Quote

If you need clarification, Kane Lashed Fang, (though it whether they have an effect is up to Itiah), left his gauntlet in there, setting it to self destruct so it would explode in a minute, and used Full Lashings to keep it stuck in there

I will calculate some more damage after some more attacks, but the lashings wouldn’t work, as it was stated Fang was compounding Pewter, and Investiture resists Investiture. Szeth even found it hard to lash someone who was breathing stormlight.

Fang Compounded all of his metals and spat out Kane’s gauntlet, then tried to bite the human’s shoulder with Shardbladed teeth. With his front paws, he slashed at Kane’s spine, again with his Awakened claws.

While Fang was spitting out the gauntlet, Kane had already Lashed himself in the opposite direction, some 20 meters away.

"Hi!" he said casually as Fang attempted to slash at where Kane would be--but Kane wasn't exactly inexperienced in combat.

Then he spammed the trigger on his rifle, aiming at Fang.

But, as it happened, Fang had had all of his claws buried in Kane’s armor, and had held on when Kane had Lashed himself, still on the human’s back. He then Slicked Kane’s feet and scratched the human’s spine with his Awakened claws.

Your Slicking wouldn't work, his Allomancy, Feruchemy, and ChayShan are active and he has Stormlight. Also, scratching won't break armor. Especially if your claws are already buried.

Kane swung both his resummoned Shardarm's elbow and his ChayShan and Stormlight fueled elbow back at Fang's face.

Posted

Which was incredibly awkward, as Fang's face was above Kane's shoulder. Fang summoned his spren as a long knife in his mouth, then slammed the weapon towards Kane's eyes.

Look, this battle has been fun and everything, but with the end of the Era imminent, can we call it off?
