Probably should wait until after reading more books in the Cosmere but. . .how old is Wit/Hoid?

Here I will be asking my questions that I have about the elusive Wit. Yes I am aware that there might be other topics like this already on here, but screw it I'm making my own.

Also who is older Wit or Vasher?

Hoid is OLD, like as old as all 16 shards if not older, Hoid is definitely much older than Vasher. Just for context, he was around when Adonalsium was shattered.

Hoid is the like second oldest (or just one of the oldest) being in Cosmere, so...

(...) Hoid is amazing. I figured he was really old but it's cool knowing for sure that he's exceptionally old.

Brandon Sanderson

He is one of the oldest people in the cosmere, but he is not the oldest.

Questioner

Ahhh...

Brandon Sanderson

The person he is writing a letter to is indeed older than he is.

He is older than Scadrial. He is older than Shards although not necessarily older than their Vessels.
Compared to him, Vasher is kinda young.

I was wondering if you could elaborate on a past wob. You said that Hoid and Frost are two of the oldest beings in the Cosmere. Does that include the vessels? Are the original 16 vessels younger than Hoid and Frost?

Brandon Sanderson

In the current outline, Hoid predates the others by a bit--he'd already started aging oddly before the Shattering. But that's not strict cannon yet. (You can find evidence of it in Dragonsteel.)

Wow! He is so old. Maybe over all that time that is where he got his well- nurtured sense of humour from:lol:. I love all of the scenes with wit in it, although he is funniest in the Stormlight Archive I think.
