Toaster Retribution he/him Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Just thought that Rysn might be the next Queen of Thaylenah. Fen is old, and will likely not be alive at the back five books. Rysn has page time, a larkin, and might become a Radiant. What do you think? 2
Steeldancer he/him Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Possibly. I don't see any evidence to the contrary.
RShara she/her Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Doesn't Queen Fen have children? I'm sure she does. *checks* Yeah, she has a son, at least. He's the one that challenged Dalinar to a duel when he was visiting the city the first time. 1
Ashertliden Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 1.) The son's name is Kdralk but its only mentioned like twice 2.) I'm pretty sure I heard Queen Fen say that rule of Thaylenah is decided by the merchant guild or some such.
Stormfather-in-Law Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I'm pretty sure that's the low end guess of where Rysn is headed. 1
Steel Inquisitive he/him Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I believe they elect their monarchs... So possibly? She does have high connections with her former master and all.
RShara she/her Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Ah, you're right, they do. Hmmm then it's possible. I think it'd take an unusual set of circumstances, but I can see it happening
galendo Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 It could happen, but: 1) We've already seen Jasnah become queen. Repeating the arc with Rysn would seem...repetitive. 2) Why Rysn? Nothing about her suggests "queen" to me, particularly. She isn't even a Radiant, at least not yet. Though I will admit I (mostly) expect that to change. 3) The current queen is alive and well. Not that she couldn't die suddenly in battle, but we've already seen that with Elokhar. Repeating the arc with Fen would seem...repetitive.
