Hey DJ, top tip. I would recommend being a bit more 'grabby' with the slots. If you want to submit, throw your hat in the ring (assuming you're critiquing, of course). It's unlikely that you'll get a guilt-edged invitation, so get those elbows working

That said, please don't put in for it unless you've actually got something ready to go out on that Monday. If something gets surprise sent on a Friday-- I know I can't get to it. Just speaking for myself, it takes 4-7 hours for me to go through these things, and I can't do it every night. I make as much time as I can on weeks I submit, but there's a reason why I only crit when I submit...

Yeah I just didn't want to go on and say 'oh I'll take that' and sub out of the blue with no go ahead.

I'm in for this week with edits on last time's flash, plus another piece. I'll actually crit this time since I wanted to get a feel for it from reading crits of stuff I've actually read. I fully intend to be here for the long haul.

Yeah, it doesn't hurt to be a bit assertive about the slots. I always let everyone know when we have too many submitters lined up. I also don't always have a chance to check the forum for last-minute requests on Monday morning, so I've posted a confirmation on Sunday night and there are still a couple of spots available, it's probably safe to send something if you don't see anyone else on this thread clamouring for the slots.
