Dwig looked about, the Alley city was the perfect place for a new M&I location. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small cylinder, marked: M/I LC AMCD. Dwig grinned, unscrewing the top of the cylinder and smacking it against his hand. Something fell out, Dwig smiled. He held the small, pure black cube in his hand for a second, before tossing it at a dilapidated building. When the cube hit the building, it transformed the once-apartment into a perfect Metallurgy and Investiture shop. Dwig grinned. The device had worked this time. He walked inside, seeing all the usual stuff that M&I sold. Dwig vaulted over the counter and plopped into his swivel chair. After sitting for a while, he rolled over to his file cabinets and pulled out a folder. He stood up and walked to the door. Walking outside, he began nailing the notice in the folder to the door. Then he walked back inside. Looking about, he saw that the store was slightly different from the original. It still appeared like a supermarket with metal vials, fabrials, and weapons on the shelves. He wandered to the back of the shop and sat back down.

Below was a five-page list.

This is a new M&I store, you can buy all sorts of stuff. I will also take custom orders, but it will cost extra, and it will take time to make. NO STEALING.

Riathor Steelpushed his way into the shop, careful not to touch the doorframe, door, walls, or floor. He remained hovering in the middle of the shop.

"I need a gigantic bucket of water with metal flakes, heavy on the metal flakes," he said.

Dwig looked up from what he was doing, which was making a small bomb to set off a bigger bomb and wordlessly pointed to the metal dispenser. The dispenser looked like a soda machine, but with various types of metals instead of sodas. Dwig looked down and continued working.

In her spare time, Tena liked buying stuff. It was, most likely, a feminine urge of some sort, but she didn’t care. At least she didn’t go around buying a new pair of shoes every week. In fact, she was now wearing boots that she’d had for some half-dozen years or so, and they’d always served her well. “Guten Tag,” she said to the man at the counter of the store. “Ich brauche ein Personal, das Kugeln Brande.” She paused for a moment and considered, then added, “Auch ein Riot Shield und drei Tracking Devices. Alles klar?” She tapped her foot impatiently while giggling uncontrollably in her mind. I sure hope he understands that...

Dwig looked up, "loc, how did you get here. Well, whatever. That metal is four crysts." He then turned to Tena "Entonces, querías comprar algo. Pude entender que querías un escudo antidisturbios, correcto. Puedo conseguirle uno, quiero un modelo básico de acero o uno con refuerzos industriales. ¿Quizás uno de aluminio?" He nodded to himself and inserted the small bomb into it's cilinder.

"Que?" Tena asked, then clarified, "I was speaking German, not Spanish. Fine, I'd like a staff that fires bullets, a riot shield, and three tracking devices. Savvy?"

A girl with black hair, glasses and brown eyes entered the store. She wore a dress and had a pretty big satchel on her . Clearly she didn't look like a combat specialist. She went to Dwig and said "Excuse me, where can I get emerald broams?"

Keep in mind that Dwig and Ciera live here. The shop itself probably looks abandoned from the outside, but people do live inside. (This is also going to become the Alleycity headquarters for Dwig's new company, Trident Manufacturing in Era 3)

Jacien walks down the street, and notices the sign.

Matalurgy and investiture

now hiring.

He considers for a moment, then walks in.

”Hi. I saw on your sign that you’re hiring. What sort of jobs do you have.”

The shop was empty, the owner hadn't opened it in a few months. The shelves were covered with dust, the items lay untouched on them.

Upstairs, in her room, Ciera heard the shop door open. She jumped up, pulled her hair back into its usual tail and ran downstairs.  She jumped into the back room of the store and walked out behind the counter.

"Who's there?" she asked "We're closed right now."

Jacien starts and looks over at her.

"I saw the sign out front and was wondering what sort of jobs you had."

Note that my character doesn't think things through very well, so he probably didn't even notice that it was closed.

Laonin had followed Alask where he had lead. And he studied the building with interest. It did look pretty abandoned, though seeing someone walk in like that was suspicious. Possibly more than one person used this as a base of operations. "Well, it looks abandoned, but obviously isn't. Take care Anon, just because someone walked in doesn't mean it's open. We should probably tread with care here. Should we circle around and check it out or just walk in through the front door?"

“I would say we walk in,” Alask said. “Easier that way. Plus, didn’t we kill most of the Dakhor people back at that fight? I don’t think they’d be in a place to ambush us. I say if we enter sneakily, that might be enough.”

Ciera rubbed her eyes

"My brother apparently left the front door unlocked. Doesn't mean we're open, though." she spun around and flipped at switch. LED light strips flickered to life around the shop.

"If you want a job, sorry. This store is shutting down soon. Dwig, he's my brother, is liquidating most of his assets so he can start a new company."

"I hope there aren't any more in here. I don't know if we can make it through another fight like that." As Laonin said this, all the lights suddenly sprung to life. Which may indicate that whoever was inside knew they were there. "Well. Either it is open, or they're expecting us. It probably isn't worth sneaking now." Finishing, Laonin began walking toward the front door.
