Are the Scadrialians partially in the Cognitive?

So we know the reason that Lift can take food and make Stormlight is because she's partially in the Cognitive Realm. Are Scadrilians the same, hence why they "burn" away the metals in the same way Lift does food, or is it just something to do with Scadrial's particular origin?

It has to do with their Connection to Preservation. Remember that Preservation put a little bit more of himself in humans than Ruin.

Lift's ability to metabolize Stormlight is not necessarily because she's partially in the Cognitive Realm.  Her Realm-blending may be a side effect of her boon from the Nightwatcher.

I thought that was what the Nightwatcher did. Wyndle said she shouldn't be able to touch him so she must be partially in the Cognitive in Edgedancer, so I thought that was what let her metabolize to Stormlight.

That in itself isn't enough. The Singers are more heavily Cognitive Tha   humans too, and hey don't have that ability.

There are some interesting parallels that I hadn't thought of before this thread.  Lift can convert nutrients into Stormlight and exists partially in the Cognitive Realm.  Spren exist primarily in the Cognitive Realm, but can also cross over into the Physical Realm.  They also "feed" off of Stormlight.
