Jeffo Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Do we know if the microorganisms on Taldain have any relation to the ones on Patji? i believe Autonomy has been meddling on FOS so would be pretty cool if she seeded the planet with investiture.
0 Calderis he/him Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 The actual organisms that conduct the investiture themselves? Doesn't seem likely. The sand on Taldain is covered in microorganisms, on Patji it's a worm that infest the fruit and spreads to animal life that way. The underlying mechanisms may be similar but the organisms seem to be on very different levels of complexity.
0 RShara she/her Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 There are some similarities, but the big difference to me is that the fungus on Taldain is killed/expended when a sandmaster uses it, and completely consumed/removed from the sand when eaten by a sandling, and the sandling never gains any particular power from it. And the sandmaster doesn't need to eat the fungus to master Unless that's part of the initiation that we haven't seen......
