What happens if one eats an Invested object?

Cyanic

Question

Like say someone stored Breath in a piece of bread and that bread was eaten by someone else, what happens to the Breath? In the same line of questioning, what happens if the bread was awakened and then eaten? What about other Investiture assuming they can be contained in something edible?

The person has to have a Connection to the Shard that the investiture comes from, and the ability to burn that investiture. So most likely, nothing would happen and the investiture would just return to the system. If they did have a Connection, like the aforementioned carrot--They were an Awakener and a Mistborn, and were the ones to Awaken the carrot--they would just get the investiture back that they put in along with the normal effects of that object.

Questioner (paraphrased)

What would happen if Allomancer was also an Awakener and Awakened metal he'd burn?”

Brandon Sanderson (paraphrased)

If he did that, he’d get allomantic power and also get back the Breaths used in Awakening the metal.

Footnote: supposedly it was around half an hour into the signing line; has not been found on the record although we may have started it after it was asked already
