Naurock Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 How many times have you gone to make a theory but when compiling WoBs you actually kill your own theory? I'm going guess I've had three theories of mine killed this way. I've gotta admit the one I killed this morning was gonna be a fun one. 2
Quantus he/him Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) More of mine die that way than survive the research and see the light of day. Worst was when I spent a long time on reddit trying to map each of the Shardic Intents to binary numbers correlating to positions on the Allomantic chart, only to be shown a WOB that confirmed that not all shards have specific numbers, and some numbers are system-relevant rather than shard-relevant. The chart part still works pretty well, but that one WOB entirely killed off all the math-theory I was chasing. Edited August 16, 2018 by Quantus grammar... 4
Merrickz he/him Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 All my favourite ones are Killed when I post them by either being already a thing or someone has more obscure knowledge than me 3
Unlicensed Hemalurgist he/him Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) I essentially live in a constant state of having theories proposed and shot down. That's part of the fun. To paraphrase Thomas Edison: "I have not failed in understanding the Cosmere. I have simply discovered ten thousand ways not to understand the Cosmere." Leyrann Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I had a theory that should have failed because of it but I was too confident that, if Brandon were asked the question, he'd have RAFO'd it. Still sad.
