It says that someone asked me Does that mean someone is close to making one? Maybe, or maybe someone is worried that someone is close to making one, Or maybe someone is...

Late at night a figure slipped from the shadows near the orphanage and swung himself in through the open window with one hand, the other held a dark object. The figure padded silently through the dorm and stopped before a young child's bed. The figure took the object and carefully settled it next to the sleeping child. The child drew the small ball of fur close to them and it uncurled and snuggled into their embrace.

 

Satisfied the figure crept back out of the room and into the night and turned into an alley. The alley blazed with light for a moment and the figure was gone.

 

I just had to, you can't just steal and orphan's bunny.

Sounds like a plan, so go for it. Can't see any massive problems or confusion it would cause. Only issue is if/when a Returned reveals themselves, but they'd have to reveal themselves publicly so we'd know and could strike them off the list. Maybe check any Returned that reveals themselves to see if they are close to 10th instead? That would show they have a lot of Breath, equivalent to a normal person having 4th Heightening.

Let me also say that that seems a good plan, Aonar!

And since only a couple others commented on it, I think we should definitely lengthen the day. That gives people enough time to really think about their votes and make the best decision possible. Wyrmhero is right that discussion has really only gotten started in the second day. I think that's part of the problem: we're really only getting 24 hours worth of good discussion when we should have 48. Having this one longer day will definitely aid our decisions.

A quick reminder on what bodies are available to lifelessify: Dyrii, Fron and Swimim's corpses are still available. I am considering instating a rule that a corpse is no longer usable after 3 nights. After all how long are they going to be just left lying around

I'm going to have to disagree with this on principle. Sorry. This far into the game, we shouldn't be changing rules. People have already made plans and game decisions based on the rules as they are.

Gammer supports the longer day cycle over the weekend. She has to leave town to celebrate some Halledren holiday to go celebrate some Returned coming back 3 days after death, or something like that.

Aili decided to give up the disguise she had been harboring for years. She made her Divine Breath manifest and changed. She grew taller and more curvy in the right places. She went out in the square for all to see. "I am Trueheart the Just. Goddess of justice and honesty. I am Aili," she proclaimed to the crowd in the square.

 

Lilen was born in Idris, in a small village, though most of Idris's towns were. She died in her thirties after years of making sure the law was upheld in her town. She Returned the next day. She went by the name of Aili then. After a few months in Idris, she grew bored with the drabness there and moved to heathen Hallandren. She was inducted into the Court of the Gods and given her new name. A few years later, Trueheart grew tired of the petitions and they slowly mad her feel as if she was going mad. She suppressed her Divine Breath after staging a scene giving it away. She took the name of Aili again and moved to a small town on the border of Hallandren and Idris, where she could start over again. 

 

Aili decided that now was time to reveal her true nature.

 

Yes. Aili is an Idrian Returned.

"Colours!"  He swore under his breath. She looked kinda like Aili, but only if Aili had somehow got really really ridiculously good looking.

 

"Hey gorgeous, haven't seen you before, would you like to see my instru.."  The crowd rounded on him and glared.  Baldrick looked embarased.

 

Elo glared back.  He was still in pain from the beating a couple of nights ago.  He wasn't fit for another round . . . . . . . . .

"....ctions for building my new house?  I'm thinking of setting a microbrewry in the basement"  he finished.

As Everyone stared in shock at Aili, crazy old Aili, Jeo was the most surprised. Her? a Returned? A Pagan god had been working under him? That, that wasn't blasphemy was it? Hopefully if it is, Austre will forgive him. But why would she reveal herself now? And would Jeo need to find a new Assistant? But who could repleace dear old Aili? Maybe Chide? He didn't even do anything except be paranoid.

 

Lore-Wise, the Iradecent Tones are supposed to name you if you want to become a god. And since you returned in Idris, you wouldn't have been able to survive.

If I remember right, either Siri or Vivenna comments on how they have Returned in Idris, they just aren't worshipped. I could be wrong though. I doubt this scenario would ever happen on Nalthis, I kinda just wanted a cool name. And Aili isn't all that devout anyways.

As to why I revealed myself, that's a secret for another time. "Jeo, I would not mind working under you, I have always loved cooking, I think I must've been a cook before I Returned. I might have a more active part in helping the town though, so if you don't mind someone who can't work all the time, I don't mind keeping my hands busy. No matter how attractive they, or their body, may be."

Exactly, they aren't worshipped in Idris, and Giving Breath is Profane. Viveena mentions Idrian returned olny last aweek before consuming their Divine breath. And thanks for Staying on.

Oh true. I wouldn't be surprised if Aili was taking Breath from people who were about to die or she decided it would be just to take it from until she got to Hallandren. She was never a great Austre worshipper.
