AC12 he/him Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 So I was just over on Brandon's website and I found updates to the progress bar. The first thing I noticed was that the Secret Project was still there. I was fairly certain myself that Dark One was the secret project, has this ever been confirmed? The progress bar now also shows Skyward 2 first draft at 20% complete. I remember Brandon saying he would write the whole trilogy if it was going good, so I guess it is, but personally I have been really wanting The Lost Metal. But who knows maybe I will end up loving Skyward just as much. Anyway, just my minor observations for the day
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 He said he would start W&W sometime during the fall/late summer I believe. I am not sure he can reach that deadline if he is gonna do Skyward 2&3. But would I rather wait one-two months more for Wax and Wayne and not have another unfinished project on Brandons desk screaming for a writing slot? Yup. I would. I also think it was confirmed that Secret Project wasn’t Dark One.
+Sorana she/her Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 I'm fine with whatever he writes as long as he doesn't stop. I'll buy it and read it and given bis other books I'll love it...
Draginon he/him Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Interesting that he's already started on the sequel. Wonder if this means he was starting it during the secret project. Also when I saw the update I didn't read anything above it and thought that was the secret project until I looked above it at the secret project line

This let’s him put foreshadowing in book 1 for things that happen in book 3.
Steeldancer he/him Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 He better write them quick. I want more Cosmere.

Considering the proofread of the first book was turned in to the publisher earlier this month (and the beta read for it finished up around April), I think he's locked in to what foreshadowing he already had in place before starting to work on book 2. 1

The whole Apocalypse Guard/Skyward debacle has kinda messed up the current expected timeline. I am starting to tell myself to not expect anything new Cosmere wise until 2020.

Ammanas Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 I was originally delighted that Apocalypse Guard had been shelved thinking, in my naivete, that he would immediately start working on the next mistborn and then Stormlight 4. Unfortunately my wait is now longer...I am not complaining about Brandons decisions, but it is a little deflating for me.

I have to agree with you here, I really am looking forward to the ending of Wax and Wayne, but still can't complain about his writing choices. Brandon is great in regards to putting something out in a timely fashion and giving steady updates to his fans, even if the updates are exactly what I would like to hear. I am just glad to know that progress is being made on something. It is a lot more than I could say about certain other authors that shall remain nameless.

Which is ironic, if you think about it. Maybe if we knew their true name we could summon them and make them start writing faster. 1
