I was thinking, would it be possible for a nicrosil metalmind be keyed to an allomantic ability or a certain surge and then just be refilled with investure after it runs out? Would it have to be filled by a coinshot or a rioter in order to use that ability? or could it be keyed to that ability and then just be refilled by a nicrosil ferring?

It should be storing like anything else in Feruchemy. 

Tin stores individual sense which are weakened while storing and then can be tapped later to be stronger. 

Nicrosil should work the same way. They are literally storing the portion of their spiritweb that grants the ability, and tapping it for later use. You would have to have the ability to fill it.

Can you elaborate on that a little, Soulbearers are something I struggle to wrap my head aournd.  Aside from presumably being less permanent how is that different from Hemalurgy, which in the case of a Radiant would be moving the actual Nahel Bond?

Other than mechanically its not. It's storing and granting exactly what hemalurgy steals.

The bond is a Connection that alters them Spiritually. I don't think it would be storing the bond itself, just the ability granted by it. 

Connection is not in itself investiture, but a force that acts on investiture.

So, yeah, I'll dig more into that. I'm gonna go with Investiture for now, but I could change that as I move along. What I'm kind of debating is, is there a separate Cognitive state, and I don't think so. So I'm gonna go with Investiture for now.

Nicrosil stores raw Investiture from the spiritweb itself. So I think it can store what results from that connection, but not the Connection itself.

OK, so Soulbearers will store the output, but Hemalurgy steals the whole machine.  I can go with that, it follows the patterns with spikes and the other metalic arts.
