Suddenly, a dark shape fell from the sky and landed with such a force that the pavement cracked. The figure raised it's black hood. Beneath it was the face of a young man with blue eyes and dark hair. He exclaimed:

- My name is Zaphoid Beeblerock and I'm here to kick some butt! Who wants to fight me? Come on and try and hit me!

eh, why not,

Even watching the fights around him, he was getting bored again. He wanted to see what he'd learned and he wanted to try fighting as well. Deras might have gotten just what he wanted when a cloaked man landed on the grounds, which slightly surprised him. He was threatening, but apparently he wasn't hostile if he was just looking for a fight.

Still with his wooden staff, Deras approached the cloaked man and begun speaking. "Fight?" He gestured toward himself and the newcomer, in hindsight the word 'spar' might've been a better idea.

Zaphoid, hearing the newcomer speak, turned around and fell into an Allomancer's crouch.

*insert Matrix-style hand gesture*

- I'm waiting. First one to get a hit wins.

So can I godmod standard reactions, like "Zaphoid struck, Deras dodged"? Never did this before...

Well, no, not really. FFRP works best when your actions are "I do this, hopefully causing this". Goddmodding of any kind should be avoided, but we just can't seem to help ourselves -_-

I don't think so, though with 'fight-writing' you can just do an attack and say what might happen if the attack is dodged or if it's not, probably just don't control the other RPer's character unless they give permission, alright against NPC's tho

Deras nodded and jogged forward, his wooden staff reared back and his strike very obviously telegraphed. He intended to hit the man, but hold back some since he didn't want to injure the man too much given his strength.

Here's a pretty good example of a duel. There was a mediator in this one, but it will still help if you read over it.

Generally speaking no, not unless someone sets you up well.

If someone was a Steelrunner and said they started ducking and weaving around your character then it's probably pretty reasonable to assume they dodge a hit you throw. But generally it's best to let a player determine how their character reacts.

Since this isn't a proper duel no one needs to moderate. But if you two want I can do it.

Since it's not like an official duel, we just moderate it ourselves, allow your character to dodge or get hit, that kinda thing

ok i guess you dont nned to

Anticipating the hulking man's strike, Zaphoid started filling his ironmind until he weighed almost nothing and jumped up and backward. As he floated away, he Pushed on the metal braces that kept the walls of the arena up to keep from smashing in a wall, and slowed down to a standstill. He then drew the bladeless knives he carried with him, that were meant to incapacitate, not to kill. It was a duel, after all. He Pushed on the stumps and sent them flying towards the man.

Deras saw the throw, and tried to dodge, but was still hit with a few of them. He felt the dull knives impact his body, they would have hurt if he could feel pain. Deras thought about what he wanted to do. He wasn't bored anymore, but as for the fight, did he want to win?

He did. He put the staff onto the floor and let it roll away, if he really wanted to win, he might be better off using something he was more familiar with: his bare hands.

He charged forward, faster than last time, strong legs boosting him to almost super-human speeds. With his arms out, he intended to grapple his opponent, possibly throw him. It wouldn't kill him even if it was successful.

Nothing ever changed - Mejin determined - she always missed out on something. Even a trip home cost her.

But seeing Tino had been worth it, as well as getting Lei to shut up about not visiting enough.

Mejin knotted her skirt above the knee for more maneuverability and checked her thigh for the knife strapped on. Still there.

Pleased, she hopped off the rock she was standing on and entered Devaan’s training ground again.

Hey Silva! Welcome back!

Go check out the vault next chance you get, walk up to Devaan and ask about it or something.

Devaan saw the hit coming. Sloppy. If he wanted to he could have dodged that punch with ease. He landed on his feet and walked towards the Dreadnought, and flashed his palms towards Orren, interlocking his fingers and creating an Aon. Modified Aon Eon flew out and hit Orren, weakening him. Devaan strolled towards Orren and hit the chestplate with his staff, Discharging an Aon on his palm to send a concussive blast as well as hitting the Dreadnought with the staff. A puncture in the Armour appeared once Devaan lowered the staff. The Aon detonated, sending Orren  stumbling backwards.

The dreadnought stumbled backwards, its stubby legs slipping in the sand and sending it crashing into the ground.

It didn't move.

Back at the gate, Kerith slowly unfolded his arms and straightened.

Devaan stepped up to Orren.

"Now Captain. I'll heal you, but I want to ask you a question. When you started fighting me. A terrismen with a staff, what was your first thought about the fight?"

Devaan sucked in stormlight and began to heal Orren with his surge of regrowth.

The dreadnought's only response was a burst of sparks, gushing from the massive hole in its center.

Static poured from the speakers, filling the arena with eerie white noise.

Nohadon... the man is inside an aluminum tank hull. He's not getting healed with stormlight.

Why wasn't the dreadnought healing? wait... the armour.

Devaan let steel allomancy flow through him, and noticed that no blue lines were coming from the armour.

"Kerith, get him to either an operating table or if he is able to, let him tap some unsealed goldminds I keep in the back. If he's in danger of dying, let me know and I'll activate the house Aons. That will save him, but interrupt the other sparring sesions.
